My radiator took a crap on me a while ago so I was going to go with an aftermarket aluminum radiator like a Mishimoto. My question is whether or not a transmission cooler alone is adequate for the tranny because generally they are added on where in my case it would be the only thing cooling the fluid? The one I'm looking to purchase is rated @ 14,400 BTU and measures 11"x6"x1-1/2.

Is this for an automatic or 5 spd?

Any of the aftermarket coolers are fine, the OE one in the radiator is actually damn tiny if you take it apart and look at it. Just make sure it gets plenty of airflow. I like the frame rail mount ones, they're easier to install since the lines are right there, they fit tight out of the way, and there's plenty of air under the car without blocking the radiator, condensor, etc.

Yes, auto users who use both our radiator and transmission cooler have seen great results.
