Justin Hammer is going to be one of the other antagonists in the film too according to that blog theronin posted.

He drank quite a bit in Iron Man. There also was a deleted scene that kinda addressed his early stages of alcoholism. It's when he gets back from his first mission and he's in the bathroom all beat up and wasted. I also saw a shot from Iron Man 2 where he's in broad daylight with his armor on and no helmet and he's wearing sunglasses (possibly because he's hungover).

It seems that villain is the Crimson Dynamo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimson_Dynamo). A lot less comic booky than what was in the vid, but that could be another villain, or not his full form.

I can see Whiplash being a little chump villain Iron Man just runs through, but not a main villian. Crimson Dynamo makes a lot more since with Black Widow running around... Everybody knows she's a Russian super-spy. She probably steals Stark Enterprise secrets for the creation of the Russian Crimson Dynamo.

Saw the movie last night. Don Cheadle>>>>>>Terrance Howard. There was less witty banter between Stark and Rhodey this time, but whatever banter there was was tons better than Howard mumbling through each scene looking like he's about to cry...

Cheadle made the character soooo much more believeable, especially as a military man. He really seemed more like an old friend of Tony's while Howard just kinda looked like his babysitter.

Cheadle took ownership of that character as soon as you see him on screen. First words out of his mouth?

"Yeah, its me. Get over it"

Awesome.

^^^Yeah man, I was really surprised that a lame villain like Whiplash could carry a movie on his own. Thats a true testament to Mickey Rourke's acting that made that character believeable and not lame.

Two points that my girlfriend brought up from the viewpoint of not being familiar with comics or these characters: She was annoyed that Scarlett Johannsen and Mickey Rourke's characters didn't use codenames in the movie. That would have made them even more memorable, in her opinion. And I agree. Why bother giving War-Machine a name, but not Whiplash and Black Widow?

I never really thought about it before today but those two are pretty standalone compared to the others.


Personally the black leather X-men(and that whole universe of Marvel) don't jive with the classically styled Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America.

Justin Hammer stays Justin Hammer. After Tony openly admits himself to be IronMan, Hammer Industries, a rival homeland defense company (make shit blowed up gooood!) begins to battle Tony/Ironman on the financial front.

Hammer was originally created as a "badguy" for the Demon in a Bottle arc, aka, Tony the alcoholic. In that arc, tony fucks shit up bad, drinks like a mofo, loses his company to Hammer in some stockholder BS, and its pretty much bottoms up for him.

Rhodes takes his place as Ironman because frankly, a drunk Tony v Fin Fang Foom would get pwnt. They eventually drag him outta alcoholism and he beats the shit out of everything. IIRC, Stark Industries is no more, and he creates CIRCUITS Maximus? Or some shit? He gets his moneys back, doesn't buy Stark Industries, but starts up Stark Enterprises in LA.

Anywho, Rockwell is a "modern" Justin Hammer. In comics, that bitch is old as dirt.
