View Full Version : NJ 1995 240sx - Super Clean!

I think I'm done with 240s for a while. This is my second one and I had high hopes for it but getting married, and buying a house is a little distracting. This car is VERY clean. I can't stress that enough. Here is the basic break down-

-'95 240sx base model / with AT. Bought it with 143k on it.
-stock KA motor with 162k very good engine. Does not burn oil. 60psi while crusing. No problems. Never beat on it. I could count on one hand the amount of times I've revved it over 3000.

-Exhaust is pretty stock. Looks like a custom cat back with a fart can. Nothing special. It works fine and it's not loud.

-Body is nice - SE lip and fog lights. No rust. The only real dent in the car is a small ding just above the lock on the trunk. Tiny.

-Front suspension is MDU coilovers and Godspeed adjustable components

-Rear suspension is still stock but I have coilovers and the appropriate adjustable parts to go with it. (also urethane bushings) Obviously this setup is not the greatest, but it functions fine and is perfectly ok for daily driving.

-Interior is 8/10. Very clean. Still has the stock floor mats!! Pretty much stock except for some aftermarket seats. Again, they aren't great but they work fine.

-The wheels are SUPER SUPER rare Impul Silhouettes. 17x8 +35 - 17/8.5 +35
Tires are in decent shape. 235/45. Probably have 50% life left.

-Everything in the car works as it should. All lights etc. A/C is cold. Heat is hot. P/S is fine. Gas gauge is weird. Stays 3/4 full all the time so I track the gas with the trip odometer.

-I have a nearly complete 5 speed swap to go with the car. It is not installed but I think the only parts that you will need to complete it are the master/slave cylinder, clutch lines and a speed sensor.

-Sound system is meh. It has a nice head unit that will play mp3s. The radio works as well but I think only the front speakers are connected. There is an amp? in the trunk and something eslse too? haha There is also a small JL sub. I know absolutely nothing about audio stuff. LOL

- I also have the original owners manuals with the OG window sticker!

Ok so here is the book on the car. LOL
It was obviously garaged for a good bit of it's life. The underside is so clean you could eat off it. Very straight. I carfaxed it before I bought it and it was never in an accident. The only rust is very minor. Top of the shock towers and that's IT! There is no rust anywhere on the body. The passenger side fender was hit by a deer about six months ago. I bought a good fender and put it on. The paint is decent but it doesn't match 100%. Maybe 90%. The body is very straight. MINOR dings and light scratches only. From 15 feet away the car looks almost perfect.
It is a base model with an automatic. Stock KA engine with nothing done to it except a K&N drop in filter. Always ran 93 in it and changed the oil every 3000 with full synthetic 10w40. I removed the upper timing chain guides and replaced the tensioner. I also recently did the water pump. The engine is great. If I didn't know better I'd be tempted to say it was rebuilt. It does not use a DROP of oil between changes. Does not burn oil at any time. The tranny shifts perfectly and was rebuilt before I bought it. (got the paperwork.) I put Autometer water temp and oil pressure gauges in it. The oil pressure is OUTSTANDING. Once warmed up, it holds a steady 60psi while cruising. At warm idle it's around 25psi. The hottest the water ever gets is 195, and thats on a hot day with the a/c on sitting in traffic. A/C blows cold. Power steering works perfect although it has a small leak. Leaves a little drop on the driveway about every 3 days. I installed a fuel pump kill switch for security.
The suspension is ok. It's got MDU coilovers on the front and stock springs on the back with KYB gr2's. Obviously this is not a great setup but I was definitely not drifting or tracking this car. The front suspension is completely adustable but it's all Godspeed stuff. I know, I know it's not the greatest stuff but it works fine for daily driving duties. I have the MDU coilovers and complete set of adjustable suspension parts for the rear as well. Just never found time to put the stuff in. Everything works fine just like it is. The car has a decent stance and handles well. There is a little bit of a shimmy in the front between 40-45mph. I KNOW this is a tire balance issue. I replaced the rack bushings with poly ones. Hope that's enough info!!!

I'm asking 3500

PICS!

i see alot of rust on the pass side strut tower

08-10-2009, 10:15 PM
The rust isn't quite as bad as it looks. I was actually thinking about fixing it myself. I've been mig welding for the last 5 years. I just don't have the time to mess with this car anymore. (Thus I'm selling it...) IF it would really change people's minds about buying the car, I guess I could fix it. Maybe I could work out a deal with whoever bought it. The car is on e-gai right now with a no reserve auction starting at 3400. So the offer for 3000 isn't far off. Trust me, compared to some of the hacked up, rust bucket, ragged out 240's around, this is thing is worth the money for someone who wanted a nice, clean, straight car to start with. It's why I bought it originally.

your car is clean. that rust isn't bad at all I have seen worst. I would like to get it. but ill pay 3000 for it and u dont have to fix the rust.

08-11-2009, 11:09 PM
Thanks for the offer, but I'd need to get more than 3000. honestly at this point I'm thinking about keeping. I keep showing people the car and talking about how great it is and then I'm thinking to myself, 'If it's so great, why the heck am I selling it?!?!'
