Hey guys...I picked up a set of 550cc injectors a friend was trying to sell. Before he sold them to me, he was trying to get them out of the rail, and ended up screwing one of the injectors up. My question, is this going to cause an issue in performance, or would I still be able to use it? Basically, its the top pin (side feed injectors) that is bent over, and the plastic ring around it is gone...Will this affect the performance in any way?? I'm afraid to run them and end up leaning out a cylinder or something :(

Thanks guys! Here's some pics...

This is the bad one:

That doesn't look good... i want to say don't use it.
...or you can send it out to get cleaned and flow tested...if its bad they will let you know.

Yeah, I was pretty much thinking the same thing...the guy I bought them from said he'd replace it if it wouldnt work...only thing is, I've never seen individual injectors anywhere...might have to go direct!

how was he trying to remove them? I'm trying to see how it's possible to damage it that way

pliers from both sides of the square.

he pulls on them

pliers are squeezed tight, they slip off and smack the needle.

just look at how chewed up the plastic is from the teeth on the tool

try this method if you havent gotten out already

put the two screws back besides the injector then use two flat heads to pry it out with the screws as leverage points

or remove the fuel rail

Im not sure exactly how they went about trying to remove it. I know the rail was out because he gave that to me separately. He said that he tried taking it to a shop somewhere so they could use their method of getting it out, and they couldn't get it either.

So I think ILoveJDM probably hit the nail on the head with that one. He was trying to get them out when I bought the motor from him while I was deployed. Then I decided to buy the turbo/ecu tune/injector setup from him as well. Didnt know they were in this condition...:(
