It's really more 'camp', than anything else.
Not so much psychedelic, although the experience isn't too far off from a bad trip.

Director is a drag queen Tom Rubintz, who likes to mix Las Vegas style glamor with homo-erotica.
The effects are totally intentional.

Seeing it the first time, I thought it was horrid & brilliant at the same time.
After repeated viewings, the humor, camp appeal (esp the resemblance of the pickle-man to Farzam) grew on me.
