Before I started this swap on my S13, I searched and found this website, The Definitive 300ZX Brake Swap! (http://importnut.net/300zxbrakeswap.htm) which is great. However, I felt that it was a bit lacking in explanation (and wrong in some parts) regarding the rear parking brake swap.

First, contrary to what the importnut website says, the Z32 TT e-brake assembly works just fine, you just can't use the 5 lug hub. Second, using the TT e-brake cables is very, very easy. After doing this swap, I can't see why anyone would forgo the tt cables and buy the 2+2 cables.

On with how I did the swap.

It is very straight forward, with the trickiest part being re-assembling the e-brake drum itself. 8mm wrenches are amazing when it comes to forcing the springs over their respective anchors.

It took about 10minutes to reassemble the first drum, and about 5minutes to do the second one (once I knew where all the pieces went, it was very easy).

Also, if you don't have NA Z32 hubs, its not that big of a deal. The anchor (huge) bolt just needs to be 1/4~5/16 of an inch away from the upright.

There are two oval holes in the subframe. I routed the cables through them and forward. Here is how it turned out.

As you can see, there are rubber boots covering the hole, those came with the tt cables.

For mounting the cables to the car, these are your best friend.

Here is how they came out, using the original bolt hole for the oem cables.

Hopefully this helps anyone who was in the same boat I was in last week.

The stock 300zx lines work fine for the s13 chassis but not for the s14. If you have the s14 could you include more pictures on how you got the cables to stretch those couple extra inches?

how about selling the 300zx cables to a s13 guy and buying r33 cables that bolt straight in for the s14?

My mentioning of it being S13 was a bit innocuous, I should have put that in the thread title. My bad.

Like the guy below me posted though, sell your 300zx lines and get the R33 ones. They really do fit like they were meant to be on there.

I just did the swap this weekend using the r33 brake lines. They reached perfectly to the "t" but one thing is that I can't seem to find good mounting points for the lines after the drive shaft. Do you guys have any suggestions?

From what I remember about that conversion, the R33 cables can be routed and mounted exactly like the S14 cables. Really, as long as the cables are prevented from hitting the drive shaft you should be fine.
