wack. of course they put an LBJ dunk as top due to the hot topic, but HANDS DOWN Carter's olympic dunk is best "In Your FACE!" dunk

I kept hearing about this on the news.

is it THAT newsworthy?

THAT was what all that bullshit was about?

It was so... anti climatic.

I expected nukes to go off, and little naked children burned by napalm to cry into my computer monitor.

It wouldn't have been a story if nike and lebron would have said "yeah, the kid got me" "nice dunk"

instead of trying to hide the video and acting like lebron cant be dunked on.

I just don't see what the big deal is. JaBron making a big deal about this noting getting out really makes me loose respect for him.

I miss Jordan.

The only reason they say he got dunked on was because he actually jumped up to try and block it..even though by that time, it was already too late to do anything about the dunk.

Meh, I was expecting the video to show him being posterized...He went for the block, far from being dunked on...

Um, going for the block and not getting it while the guy dunks the ball is what defines "getting dunked on," but still...

The problem, people is that it is NOT newsworthy...
EVERYONE who plays ball has been dunked on.
Fuck, I play pickup ball and I have been dunked on twice this month alone. If you claim to play ball and HAVEN'T been dunked on, then dammit you ain't playing defense!!!

I agree with Kevin Hench on this:
Simple dunk was turned into scandal - FOX Sports on MSN (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/9842682/Simple-dunk-was-turned-into-scandal)

This is in the news not because LeBron got dunked on, but because he sent his lackeys from Nike to try and cover it up. It was a meaningless after hours game to show off for some people at a basketball camp, LeBron reacted late and made the mistake of bothering to TRY to jump on someone who had a head of steam after beating his man and was PREPARED to dunk the ball.
Late fucking reaction, he got beat.
He handled it DEAD wrong and that is why it is all over everything.

Said it before and I'll say it again, Lebron James won't win shit if he doesn't grow the fuck up and get over himself.

actually I disagree. Reigning MVP Lebron James gets dunked on by College Sophomore is most definitely newsworthy, albeit sports section newsworthy. It's been said a million times ever since the tape was confiscated, it would've been a big deal to basketball fans, but only for the obligatory 15 minutes.

lol it's not news worthy.

EVERYONE gets dunked on.

i've never been dunked on, because i play with others who can't dunk, but people get dunked on all the time. nothing special. plus, Jordan's team had good picks. he got past 2 defenders and he took it up strong. it was too late for lebron to defend him.

I might have agreed with this, and I still somewhat do, in that he is the reigning MVP.
BUT
MVP or not, this is ONLY sports section newsworthy, and would have fizzled out last week if not for the coverup.

bad move by lebron. first the not congratulating orlando incident, now this. he's lost all respect.

LBJ seems like he's been in the league forever, but he's what? only 23, maybe 24 by next season? so, he's pretty young still. he might have all the talent and the physical body of a man but the mind is still that of a young child.

it's harder when you have all this talent and being hyped up as the next great one at a young age. what did it take other young superstars with extreme talents to mature and realize it's not all about them? MJ wasn't winning rings until the early '90, '91?, and he came in at '84. Kobe won rings early with Shaq, but felt he had to be the man for a few seasons after Shaq left town. didn't turn out so well until a year or two ago.

give it a few seasons, worst case scenario, it takes him a long time or he never grows up like allen iverson or stephon marbury and waste his talents.

Lebron is 24, entering year 7 in the league...
Jordan turned the corner his 7th year at 27.

Kobe won at 21 in 2000, but his win was more the effort of a team well put together, and yes Shaq had a large hand in it.

That is not what this thread is about, though.
I stand by my statement, looking at snubbing the magic and the media after losing, the forthcoming book about his last 2 years of high school, the fact that he now has 2 or 3 kids and is not married, I am calling LeBron James' development as an adult stunted, and I stick by that.

No, actually you're fucked up for entering a thread upon which the subject you didn't care about and interjecting an opinion anyway.
The internet is funny like that.

Also...
Nike is apparently giving them back:

A little too late IMHO.

They all look like asses for covering up such a tiny thing.

LBJ could have just said 'i let him do it to boost their morale, to show them nothings impossible.'

Fucking cry baby...I swear, if LBJ gets hit by a fucking bus tomorrow and dies, I wont give a fuck. His fucking ego is bigger than anybody who has ever played the game and thats fucking sad. You get paid so much money for playing and endorsing, who gives a fuck about something so tedious. This shit would have faded quickly if he just moved the fuck on...
