I just recently changed my tranny oil, and it started to grind only third gear, but only once the car is warmed up. I used 75-90 oil. what can be the problem? should i get some thicker oil like 75-140? Or is my tranny just going out?

used 2.5 quarts of cheep oil, only because they didnt have mobil 1 or anything else in 75-90. soooo could it just be the fact that its not the best oil??
Thanks zilvians for the help!

no problem... actually i ended up just going with AMSOIL 75w-90.
It's good, but it did not solve my grinding entirely.
Car still shifts smooth as butter in all gears when its cold, but once it heats up, that 3rd starts acting up as usual.
I'm hoping to try out something thicker in the future, like their severe gear:

75w-140.
Although I don't know how they distinguish on their website between "Gear Lubes" and "Tranmission Fluid"
I'm considering maybe just mixing it in half/half with 75w-90, cause I'm afraid it might be too thick.

Make sure its GL-4. 75w-90 is ideal.

GL then man and be sure to share your results, I hope it works out for you, I'd definitely give it a shot as well if it does.

Maybe you need to adjust your clutch. So it can be able to gauge fully with out the grind. If you try everything else and it fails then idk try it. ahhh
