I recently pulled the KA24 from my 1992 240sx. I removed the entire engine harness, in cluding the wires that run under the dash and the two connectors that are near the battery. After all this everything in the car still worked, i put a battery in and the lights, blower fan etc all still worked. This is great because I'm swapping in another motor w/ a stand-alone harness and PCM. This is where my problems started. after trying all the accessories I turned the key off. many instrument cluster lights stayed on, the parking brake light and washer fluid light to be exact. I tried plugging the harness back in and ground the ground wires in the harness but have the same problem. Anyone have a wire diagram or run into this problem before? Thanks

Its because the signal to power down the car comes from the ignition and is basically confirmed by the ECU, you have that unplugged. There are relays behind the fuse panel on the drivers floor board that kill the power to the accessories in conjunction to the relay panel on the drivers side in the engine bay just behind the headlight. What motor are you planning to install in the car? Because with the engine harness out of the car things like your gauge cluster won't work, so you'll have to find a solution to that issue depending on the motor.

Here are some diagrams I've found useful over the years.

These are courtesy of Hashiriya415 most recently, but they are from a FSM

And this one helps a bit too. Its my personal favorite.

Thanks for the diagrams, mine is doing the exact same. I have a 2jz in my 92 hatch. Maybe now I can get this taken care of after I install cams and intake manifold.

Thanks! That is very helpful. I will look into overriding that signal because i dont think my new PCM has that capability.
