350z in a 240?

Would swapping a 3.5L 350z engine into a s13 be practical? What are the specs of the 3.5L compared to the 2.4L DOHC?

i dont think its practical only for one reason -

350zx just came out so the engine +transmition +etc would cost ****load of money.

true..........i didnt think about that one. I hear they are pretty quick though. My friend has a BMW M Coupe and the 350z hung with it for a while. I was impressed!

my friend is a BMW mechanic. his m3 is over 500 horses on dyno.

Doesn't have as much balls as the M3. The M3 is a six speed and the M Coupe (M version of the z3 hard-top) is a 5 speed. Stock 5.3 0-60mph and 13.9 1/4 and the M3 stock 4.7 0-60mph and 13.2 1/4. ( http://www.bmwklubben.no/images/m-coupe.jpg ) The base HP is 235 or so. But its a pretty quick little car as well.

The biggest problem I see is the electrical. If the motor can run on a standalone, that'd probably be the best way to do it. Electronic throttle control may have to be eliminated... The reason running the stock wiring would be difficult is the fact the the system on the new Zs and Muranos and such is totally different from all previous Nissans..
The ECM can't just recieve a 'Start' signal and be happy, it has to recognize the presence of a key that has been registered to it.

Okay, so you took an Infiniti VQ35 engine cover, shroud, beauty panel, or whatever they call it and laid it on top of your otherwise stock KA.

if you really wanted, you find the people that were swapping the RB into a 350z and see if they have the old VQ35 lying around. although.... someone swapping an RB to replace the VQ kinda says something about the VQ...

it says they have a lot of money, it doesn't say much else.

Cuz if your implying that the VQ sucks then that means the KA sucks cuz people swap SRs and such for them.

Or if you wanna go really far look at JGTC cars for example the Supra uses a 3S-GTE instead of the 2JZ-GTE

But ya the RB in a 350Z will most definately kick ass especially since its got 500HP. Anyone know if its running yet?

LoL... point taken. Then again, I wouldn't swap out the VQ.... and actually a lot of people who swap out the KA is because "it sucks". Heh.

Top Secret Put the VQ35de, made it (DETT) twin turbo and put it into the R34. and it makes only 570 HP because of IIRC. but its capable of 800+ HP
