Alright, I know it is not a 240SX but it does have an SR20DET installed.
It's in a '73 Datsun 510 2 door. I just did hellla work on this and wanted to show someone.... (I'm a whore, I know...)
Alot of the install was done by DGR Fabs in Redwood City, California. (awesome shop!)
I have more pics of the new rear end but they are on my phone. So untill I can down load them or take some pics on a lift with my Dig Cam, these will have to suffice.
First off, this is what I just took out:
http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn158/xtc-9k/IMG_0031.jpg
The previous owner did some weird stuff to this rear end. Most weird is welding the Maxima Calipers straight to the control arm instead of using an upgrade bracket.
So this is what replaced it: Here is a pic of the Wolf Creek Racing CV kit:
http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn158/xtc-9k/WolfCreekRacing510CVKit.jpg
(I will insert a pic of the new rear end installed here when I get the pics)
Other upgraded rear end components are an R200 w/NISMO LSD, Willwood brake kit, drilled rotors, all SS brake lines, QA1 Coilovers, Perrin 1" sway bar, Datsport Mustache bar, all poly-u bushings and optional 5 lug conversion.
I also had a bunch of other work done too.
Gauges Before:

After: Full set of Autometer Ultralite II full sweep gauges

At Night:

Still working on the console to mount the 4 gauges down below.

Here's some interior shots:

Ok, here are some wheels I have on it right now.
I got them for a great deal. Cheap. And they were all refinished too. The only thing I do not like about them is the intentional "fade" they tried to do but I will rock them till I have to have them refinished myself. (silver with Polished lips)
They are WedsSport RS-5's 17x7 +35 with Falken Azenis RT-615 205/40-17.
Also Ichiba 10mm spacers and Kics racing composite r26 Neo chro lug nuts (sweet) .

http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn158/xtc-9k/WHEEL2.jpg
http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn158/xtc-9k/WILWOOD.jpg
I also had my engine harness totally rebuilt and a data port installed to see what codes it is throwing. (next upgrade is APEXi engine management)
Had a radiator overflow intalled, Greddy Pullys, Braided fuel lines, Tomei cams and a several other front end things.
Ok, here are some more pics of the engine
http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn158/xtc-9k/ENGINE4.jpg

http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn158/xtc-9k/510_8.jpg
It runs sooooo much better now and it will scream with engine management!!!
The next thing to do is get EM and get over to the dyno and post some numbers.
The rest is all cosmetic.
To Be Continued........

What suspension are you using? Spring rates, and dampers front and rear plz. I've got to replace the suspension on my 510 soon.

WTF is 'max potential'? Lol. He's got an SR gearbox and a R200 dif/Nismo LSD, so it'll get to the tires. 17x7" wheels are the only limitation here... at least it'll be fun.

Lets hope it doesn't catch on fire. :(

LOL srsly. No car covers in the trunk, next to disfunctional batteries.

Austin, The 510 can handle that no problem. Its a bad ass little unibody boxcar. Fuck if they weren't so rare these days I would love to build one for drifting.

Its where I started, in the rain, the hills and in the baylands. All around Palo Alto. Ah the memories.

Props to the OP on a clean 510.

Those welds are sexy.

The intentional fade on those wheels looks like overspray! Paint them ASAP! Other than that, nice ass car. Love the pie cut intake.

I'm still envious as to how much shorter the SR is (front of car to back) than the KA! I have so little room in front of the pulleys for E-Fans it sucks... You have this posted on Ratsun or the510realm? Slick build! Can't wait to see more!

Coming to any swap meets/shows in Sacramento? I'd love to see it in person!

Lol, lots of turbo 510 guys do that... the MAF doesn't like to sit right against the turbo, or be unfiltered, and there's just not enough length in the bay to do it cleanly.

I have QA1 coilovers in the rear and GroundControl in the front.
Not sure of the spring rates but it is pretty stiff. I'll look into it.
Thanks for explaining "Max Potential". I know of guys with the SR swap running built 400 hp easily and their car is solid as [email protected]!
I am only running 300 till I get some engine management. The idle is a bit chunky due to the cams, intake and upgraded Turbo and no Engine Management. But all in good time.
The 17's actually help keep it under control in my opinion. More rubber to the ground.
The only concern I have for fire saftly are the HIDS. They get so hot and the housings are just plastic. :ugh:

Bisi? Don't know who he is.
DGR Fabs is run by a guy named Dan G. DGR Fabrication | Home (http://www.dgrfabrication.com/)
He has done all kinds of stuff and has expertise in Datsuns, Sr's and 240SX's too.
He has some really nice SR swap products for the 510's and also has a sweet front sway bar for the SR swap. (That's one of the next upgrades after engine management)

Ya, when I bought them sight unseen, The pics looked nice.
I've seen this setup on a 510 (not the same color scheme though) and they looked fantastic! These wheels give the illusion of a hella deep lip while not sacrificing offset. Wheels right now are on my long list so I'll rock these till I can have them TOTALLY refinished. I'm thinking asilver with a polished lip.
And without getting on my soap box, IMO I think that oldschool watanabe, panasport, ultralite, look has been over done. I want original, not carbon copy. But I'd add a set to become an even bigger wheel whore! hahaha

Cool, I didn't know GC made coilovers for the back... I've got GC's up front. I'm thinking of going ~200lb in the front, but I don't know what to match that with in the back... at the stock location, I'd need like 1000lb, with coilovers I'm guessing I'd be 180lb or so? My g/f drives it, and I know she doesn't want it to ride like my S14.

17" is great diameter, 7" width is what's killing you. But hey, can't fit much more tire under the stock body, especially with that ghey inside roll/lip to the fenders.

Bisi? Don't know who he is.

You have a huge Bisimoto sticker in your engine bay, but don't know who that is?

Ya, the GC's are in the front. I have QA1's in the rear.
Any wider than 7" would be pushing it without changing offset and adding flares. I've seen people put 8+ but with hella camber and still rubbing.
I had 18x8's on it before but with the new rear end, I have camber correction and they do not fit now.
The Bisimoto sticker was on there when I bought it.
Alot of work was hap hazardly done by the previous owner so that may explain the bisimoto sticker. Maybe he purchased something for them?
I was thinking of removing all ov the decals in the engine bay anyways.
I really don't like stickers. There is a huge Superior Nissan sticker in the front window but I use that one as a sun shade :D

Sorry man, I did not expect this much attention.
The guy before me put that sticker in the engine bay.
Not sure why either. He may know of someone at the shop since he was from LA. He had stickers all over it! I HAD to remove most of them.
I left the huge Superior Nissan Decal on the upper window only cause it's a good sun shade.
But I know my 04 RSX-S A-SPEC would be more at home at Bisimoto than this Datsun.
I assume you'll comment next *crosses fingers*
