so my kade had a ticking noise and i know its coming from the valve cover so i took the valve cover off, i took the timing cover off.. i checked for lose bolts but there was none..
its not a loud ticking noise but wen you actually go close on the valve cover you can hear the ticking noise.. it goes off wen i rev it up..
now i relocated my battery to the trunk and i made a cheap ass intake set up where the battery use to go in the engine bay. bought some autozone cheap intake pipes with universal apexi cone filter. i took my egr system off but i didnt get that metal pipe that goes from the downpipe to the egr.. i read a thread before that you can get the plug from autozone or sumtin like that. but i checked autozone and they didnt have anything. is it a rubber piece or wut?
i also got new NGK spark plug wires

before i took the timing cover off i could still start it but if i rev it up and as soon as i let go of the gas the engine would die...

now it would just crank and wont start and i heard the intake sucked air 3 times for like 1 or 2 sec

i put a lil bit of sylicone in the timing cover before i put it back on..

ok it sparks, i get fuel, i just got new spark plugs cuz my old ones wer dirty and a lil rust on the top..

we tried to start it and it did but hella shitty run.. it would just go on if i step on the gas but it wont rev up.. if i turn the distributor all the way to the right i could rev it up to 4k thats it and having a hard time revin it up.. my short ram intake would like pop really loud and it didnt sound right (chugin, popping, and some smoke comes out from the header i think) and it wouldnt idle..

you should get a timing gun out and reset the timing to the factory setting. I can't remember what it is off the top of my head. That is most likely why you are hearing the popping out of the intake. The spark is detonating the chamber while the intake valves are still open. That should fix most of the "popping/chugging". Also, make sure that when you took off the egr that whole thing is all sealed up. You can also always just get the timing set, then try to start. If it doesn't start then you can go onto replacing the egr system, then seeing if it starts. If it does run then its a problem with the process of eliminating the egr.
