I wonder exactly what the reason was why it did that. I also wonder what his entry speed was going into that corner.

he could of pulled out of it imo. but he locked the brakes which sent him on the straight path to the wall.

haha, no, you are mistaken. Ford will not send him a new one. Autosport Dynamics here in Charlotte built that car. It is all kinds of special. Like almost nothing on that car is stock. I've seen it in person. He came out to one of the local drift events to show it off. Some mother f-in tire smoke, holy gezzz.

He didn't use enough zip ties!

Any crash you walk away from is a good one.

From the first camera angle, it looked like he just hit the wall for no reason

Then I saw the second and I was like ohhh

Maybe he thought the track layout was different? idk

you are mistaken autosport dynamics did build the car but the chassis was given to them to build by Ford. and there really isnt that much that is special on the car. other than the steering knuckles and the rear

the accident was caused by a flat tire causing the car to understeer. the damage was actually not that bad considering the hit the chassis took and he will continue to use the same car

it kinda looks like the driver side(something) or tie rod snapped cuz damn that angle on the wheel right before he hit the wall was pretty far to the left. Im sure thats from custom knuckles tho.

lol zipties? I thought domestic muscle cars used wood screws?? :keke:

Didnt seem all that bad, tore off the fender and scraped paint. With that angle I doubt it has serious frame damage, maybe just needs an alignment.. but overall he didn't seem injured atleast not severely.

From Vaughn Gittin's keyboard himself:

This past weekend in Vegas was a painful one full of bad luck... literally. Thursday night during practice I was on fire right off the trailer. The 2010 Falken Tire Ford Mustang was incredible and I was feeling great. But Friday's practice had other plans for me. On my first run I knew the track was slick as it was like 50 degrees hotter then the prior evening. I entered at about 70% just to get a feel of the course, and unfortunately, the car just wouldn't transition back from the feint entry. I did everything I could to keep it out of the wall but it just grew legs and came right out at me and bit the corner of the Mustang right off. Thanks to the team's dedication and preparation, ASD and Team Falken were able to get the car fixed within 2 hours and get me out to qualifying. Driving the track in my head all day paid off as I nailed my first qualifying run, considering the circumstances, and was in for Saturday.
