This car was my daily driver. Had plans to race it but never got around to it. The motor is completely stock and uses Mobil 1 synthetic oil. I recently had the OEM clutch changed to an Exedy non-race clutch. At the same time I the water pump replaced and while I was at it I changed the radiator hoses because they were looking a bit worn. The motor pulls good and hard and has plenty of torque. I suspect whoever is looking at this ad has an engine swap in mind anyways. Just knowing you could get around for another 100k in mileage buys you time to save up for your swap. I recently changed the brake pads and turned the rotors so there’s plenty of meat left on the pads and you can turn the rotors at least 2 more times.
Air conditioner blows cold, matter of fact, I just used it this morning. The engine has had no major issues, the previous owner was a very old man. His wife had the oil changed every 3000 miles. Interior quality is what you would expect from a 16 year old car, not to say that it isn’t very decent. The dash has only recently succumb to the infamous crack, but there is a dash cover on it anyways. I removed the factory stereo because it had volume issues, so I purchased an Alpine head unit with the Ipod connector. There are some Infiniti speakers in the rear hatch and door, but any audiophile would probably want to change them out. I also have a Nardi steering wheel with FET quick release. On a tiny side note I’ve changed out the factory dome light to an LED unit I purchased when I was overseas. Its BRIGHT at night. I mention this because its my favorite ‘mod’.. hahah. The OEM hatch cover is still intact and I have a 300ZX rim as a spare tire since I did the 5 lug conversion.
If you are planning on doing some drifting or racing you will probably want to have the TEIN Flex coilovers rebuilt—or just get some straight hardcore coilovers. I have been driving on them for about 30k miles and they feel a bit soft now. No leaking from the shocks themselves, but just a heads up on the rebuild. I have some Powered by MAX tension rods in the front. I also have a HICAS delete bar that IS NOT installed but I will give it to the buyer. Even without the HICAS delete bar, it feels good midturn and the rear tires point straight. The headlights have been upgraded to H4 units with a 6000k HID kit. I have the jdm chuki sideskirts on the car as well as a Xenon front lip.
Issues about this car:
The clear coat has been dulled a little bit on part of the driver side door, nothing eye grabbing, but I know it’s there. There’s also the infamous dent from rolling the rear fender on the driver side. The OEM polyurethane wing is still on the car so but I have a replica Kouki wing that I’ll throw in with the purchase. There’s also various dings and scratches you’ll find on a typical 16 year old car. The engine has an oil leak that’s probably coming from the front seal. Not bad, just bothers me since its leaking onto my garage floor. I’ve had an alignment on the car since I bought the Volk’s but I think the time to buy new tires is coming around the corner. No HICAS issues, the wheels point straight and it even feels good in turns.
I will update this post with more detailed pictures tonight, but here are a few for now. No low ballers, I’m in no rush to sell this car. Practical offers will be considered. I am in the OC area most of the time. No shipping, locals only please.
