yeah, i saw something like this a while back. I wont nerd this thread up with my alien banter, but with THAT much going on and as small as we are, it'd be stupid to believe that we're the ONLY intelligent beings in the whole universe. Just sayin...

How do we actually know that is an accurate scale? Its not like they went up to those planets and measured them. I don't believe it nor care to.

To think otherwise is simply idiotic.

To make you feel even smaller, the 100 (+/-) years you are alive, is not even a blip on the timescale.

From a movie I liked a lot which many didn't A.I.

David(boy robot): Is 50 years a long time?
Teddy(robot): I don't think so...

These lines really don't hit you till the very last scene in the movie. Good movie to rent, if you haven't seen it. The movie makes you think unlike most hollywood crap. Sorry kinda went OT.

That's a pretty ignorant thing to say. Maybe you should take an astronomy course. It's pretty intense. They can measure the size of planets and stars and other objects in space by measuring parallax angles, speed of light, and a whole bunch of nerdy ass shit. lol.

I took a Universe course last quarter, and it was seriously the most interesting course I have ever taken. haha.

This is a great example why I have little faith in our current society. :wan:

Wish I could know in my lifetime if there is any form of life out there. While I do not believe in UFO stories and such, I definitely think there is a good chance that somewhere out there is a planet with conditions that allow for organic beings to survive.

If earth was the size of uranus...imagine the time it would take to get around anywhere. Extremely fascinating imagery though. I don't think that I'd be able to see if the technology in my lifetime would be able to unveil more info on these planets and galaxies.

did you know that

when you look into a picture taken by the hubble space telescope, (depending on the picture), you are looking at something that happened millions of billions of light years away, and the there probably is something new there in that span of time after the picture was taken?

I dont think we'll ever reach the next closest galaxy...according to physics, we cant travel at the speed of light and even if we could, the closest star is like 4 light years away....

we just need NOS.

You don't even have to look at a picture.

Just look outside at the stars.

You're looking into the past.
