Sun Damage

Just about every 240sx (S13 in particular) I've seen has had sun damage somewhere on the dash....my question is; Is this that caommon or am I looking at 240's that maybe haven't been taken care of that well? Do you guys have any sun damage on your dash?
BTW: My S13 search is possibly coming to an end this weekend...it depends on how much I get for my moms jeep? The selling price of the one I'm looking at is 3300...it's a 93' nice paint, but from the pics it looks like the interior migh have a decent amount of sun damage...it almost looks like it was painted and thern taken off by the dealer.......anyway....how common is sun damage in S13's?

i got a 92 and the dash/interior has no sundamage, the black is near perfect (one inperfection-my fault hehe)

my friend who had a 89/90 was fine too.

you can always get a new dash of course!

Seems pretty common to me. My dash is cracked. My friends dash has a small crack. And just about every dash I've seen in the junkyards I've seen have been cracked :( which is why I still have a cracked dash:eek:

EDIT: btw, I live in sunny florida so I'm sure that doesn't help.

i have a 90 and my dash is still perfect. i wouldnt say its common, i think it just depends on how well its taken care of.

My S14 is basically a new car. Get some tint and a windscreen shade.

I had a 90, and a 92.. both with perfect dashes..

my dash is in awesome condition. the only thing that has sun damage is the washer and blinker switches.

My dash was perfect until one day about a month ago i got a nice 6 inch or so crack along it. I was like ahh got dammit But besides that and the damage on the washer and blinker switches like drifted's

I was thinking bout getting one of them sun shield thingys but havnt gotten to it yet.

Also for me it would be very hard and expensive to get a new dash since I have the HUD and would like to keep it so I'm not sure but Im guessing it would be hard to find one in great condition.

Both mine and West's are perfect. My leather seats are kind of dry and nasty in the back by the hatch, that's the only interior damage I can think of, as far as the sun goes... Maybe you've just been looking at "wrong" 240s... :-/

just use armor all religiously. My dash is perfect and always looks glossy and wet. Mmmmmm wet....

Yeah window tinting helps a lot too, my car is a 93 SX and its in perfect shape inside and I credit all to the window tinting. My buddy has a 93 as well, not tinted and his plastics inside look baked!

I think..............s13grl is right.....I've just been looking in the wrong place........at the wrong 240's........speaking of that...this toolbox salesman was supposed to send me more pics of this car.........he never does.......he goes ok I'll do it tonight and then nothing........what a [email protected]@rd...........
