Foolishly I connect battery up neg to pos/pos to neg(I know rookie mistake) however now I cannot get any sound out of my speakers. deck powers up and will play my sub yet no sound out of speakers. I am confused and hate wiring, anyone have any idea.
'92 Nissan 240sx.

a lot of times if you hook up speakers wrong like how you said, it will just sound like crap. But given that you corrected the wiring and it still is not making sound, you might have blown the speakers. But before we come to that conclusion, make sure to double check your wiring. Ground wire is not accidentally touching the positive. To make sure you have the positive negative correct, you can take a 9volt battery and touch them to the wires. If you have the wires correct the speaker will move outward. If it is wrong, they will move inward.

are you running an amp? if so the amp could be no good.

how many amps are you running?
if you have two check the fuses on the amps if only running one amp and your car is a se check main fuses under dash you should a amp fuse on main pannel

he didn't hook up the speakers wrong. it was the power and ground.

more than likely your head unit is messed up. if you have an amp hooked up through rca cables, try hooking the speakers to the stereo leads. or visa versa. if neither work get a new stereo.

I ended up just running new speaker wire to back of cd deck and everything is good now. The car had some aftermarket stereo stuff done in it like speakers before so who knows.
