a couple weeks ago, cyrus from megan racing invited us to come to the big invitational competition they were gonna throw on the 4th of july.

that was cool, except that we had just pulled the LS1 out to do a proper turbo-friendly rebuild. fuuuuuck. so we told vic our machine shop sponsor to hurry the fuck up and be awesome. we got the engine back last saturday and put all the shit back on it and had it running on sunday. we bought a sweet 28 foot trailer on monday so we could take the car to the dyno to tune it on wednesday. it spun the tires after 510hp so we still don't
know how much power it's really putting down but the tuner thinks it's high 600s or low 700s. we finished everything on thursday and loaded the car up and left for socal friday morning.

we stopped by adams kart track on friday night to do a few laps to make sure everything was cool, and it was. then we partied at the brandin' iron in san bernardino but that place sucked so we just bough a bunch of alcohol and partied in our motel room.

on saturday morning we went to orange show speedway for the megan racing comp and met up with cyrus and colin frost and all the other socal dudes. we did some practicing and then gsxrjordan came to hang out.

the comp started and luke qualified 9th of 16. then he tandemed with joe dycus and went on to the top 8, where he tandemed with and lost to tommy roberts.

tommy went on to get 3rd place, after mike essa in 2nd and mattycakes in 1st.

Later on naoki said luke got 5th place. not bad for the first time with the new motor. naoki invited us to el toro for a drift day thing the next morning. we told him we'd try to make it out. after we packed up we followed gsxrordan back to baldwin park and then went to duarte to party with azndoc and russel crowe. when we got there some girl was chasing russell crowe and he wasn't wearing any pants. tight, we saw russell crowe's dick. after much alcohol and many hilarious stories, we went back to gsxrjjordan's place to crash out.

we woke up this morning and went to el toro for the 3rd drift event in 3 days. holy shit. megan racing was out there again, and so was chris forsberg and jtp and tommy and mattycakes and a bunch of other dudes.

then we got some hamburgers and started back to norcal. i'll put up some of my own pics when i get home. i'm typing this in the truck somewhere on I-5 between buttonwillow and kettleman city.

here's a pic i stole from rat240's post in the megan thread. it's luke in the s14 vs joe dycus in the 350z

that turbo ls sounded scary... someone told me that you (luke) were running on some old 245s...

i can't wait to see you drive with some proper tires!

Yes. The tires were some like 4 year old yokohamas. City tire online had some 265 feddys they were going to sell me, but I didnt have the money. The car was actually really scary to drive as well. There is no control of the tire spin up with the 245s on there. Should be much better though with the right selection.

265's wont help. I would run 295-315 r compound. 700 horses is a lot. Good job with the 5th place finish. definitely not bad running on 245's. I'm sure it was near impossible to keep traction.

Just thought I would post some video that features the car at the Megan Event.

How did I miss this thread? Andrew misspelled my name like 8 times, not very 'brown' of you.

For those of you who have never talked to these guys, they have a completely different vernacular than anyone else - and it changes daily.

Haha, we were just talking about this today at DTC. :bigok:

Hey Andrew, it was a pleasure meeting your crew this weekend. My name is Jared and I worked the Megan event with Cyrus on Sat. and was at El Toro with him as well on Sunday. Good job on your first time out with the car. Get more traction as well as seat time and you could be a force to reckon with at Pro-Am. See ya there!

Jared. Nice meeting you as well. I would not consider last weekends driving to be anything to show off. I was just surprised we did as well as we did, and moved on considering there was no traction and thus causing slow ass drifts. El Torro was even worse because we were on the same tires as the day before. This whole weekend was a blast. We will get some decent tires on there, and get the alignment worked out. ASB is in just over a week, so hopefully we will see you out there as well.

Awesome stuff! Looks like you guys need a tire sponsor...lol.

Sounds like a totally epic weekend! Realy awesome considering how many changes you guys made to the car recently. Just wait until you get some of the traction issues worked out.

Serious traction issues. But I love the way the turbo sounds.
