from the looks of it your not gunna be able to put another fuse in there very easilly might be easier to just rewire your deck if thats all that is affected.

look down my radio is dust....

so your radio looked like thishttp://hollyhistoricalsociety.org/images/trying%20to%20out%20run%20dust.jpg

j/k looks like your best bet is to put in a new fuse box and rewire that one fuse, also check to see if you fried some wires..:trogdor:

You either need to re-wire the affected fuses yourself with your own small fuse panel or you need a new chasis harness. That fusebox is not repairable. Whatever short caused that is VERY major. You'll be lucky if you don't find a LOT of damaged wiring harness. If the wiring isn't damaged too badly then MAYBE you could find a way to just replace the fusebox, but I doubt it. BTW, I wouldn't drive the car again untill you THOROUGHLY inspect the wiring. Personally I would pull the dash off so you can get a really good look at the harness. Pulling off the dash is a LOT easier and cheaper then burning your car to the ground in an electrical fire.

pry the bit out with some pliers and chisel it down.
try wiring in another fuse and find out what fried your fuse.
weird how radio and tach are on teh same fuse.
i thought it was dome cig and radio.

IIRC, in an S14, radio, dome light, cluster power and turn signals are on the same fuse. My S14 kept popping a fuse because the power to the cluster was grounding out.

that looks like someone jammed a peice of wire in there where the fuse goes. so crappy looking.

The fusebox is def junk - but i would check out a lot of stuff before you do anything else. make sure it hasnt fried wiring behind it.

The only thing I cant figure out is what would cause that fuse to fry like that. I dont think there's anything on there that could cause it to fry like that. Worst that could have happened is pop the fuse or melt a wire. For it to melt that badly, its gonna be something painfully tedious to fix. I'm thinking the wire going into the fuse was grounding out to cause it to melt, but that still doesnt explain why it didnt just pop. Did you stick a fuse in there higher than what the wires are rated for? Should have been a 10 amp, but you stuck a 15 or a 20 amp in there?

Most likely a bigger fuse was put in place of a stock fuse to compensate for bad ground and/or too much current, and it overheated the wire.

Or the wire between the battery and the fuse got shorted to ground and melted. The fuse can't help you in this case.

I'm going to give you the same advice someone gave me when a fuse of mine melted: Invest in a fire extinguisher.

Yea the domelight cig lighter radio and the clock on the cluster are all on one fuse

I've seen that a couple times before. Both times that I have seen that the harness had MAJOR damage to it. Check where the harness goes over the tire in the fenderwell as well.

cleaned up the fuse box to the best of my ability and replaced some fuses i got my seatbelts back my guages work but the clock doesnt and the cigeret lighter does work but as some one said the radio cig lighter and clock are all on the same fuse.... so i dont get why my cig lighter still works....also for like a day my clock was working but when ever i turned the car off the clock would reset...on the clock i can see the back light on but it does not show the numbers....

Bingo. Too large of a fuse for the given circuit = melted circuit.

There's a reason the fuses are rated differently. Go through now and replace any/all the fuses that aren't the correct amperage. You'll be thankful later when you're not on the side of the road begging for the fire department.

I don't see why people don't check things like that when buying a car. That's the first thing I do, as it tells a ton of history about the car. A ton of new or mismatched fuses = hacked up harnesses.

I'll admit it I'm don't know what size fuse there was so this is most likely what happen because the fuses on my radio and amp did not go out
