About 1.5yrs ago I dropped off a 93 Toyota Mr2 to get a full paint job, the guy quoted me 2500. I said ok cuz he was going to take out the big dent and fix other stuff.

Well I got deployed overseas I paid the money off so when i returned id have the car done, so I get home and hes all like well I had to do extra body work on the front and rear bumpers so its going to be another 1200. Im like eh whatever I just want my car. I pay that off and when he brings me the car the Hood and Trunk are not painted. Im like WTF he said price didnt cover, but he will do it for another 250, ok fine I say and get it done. He dropped it off at my house 2 nights ago and today since it was day light and i had time i looked it over.....

For 4k in paint..

1.Both door handles paint wrinkled
2.Cracks in paint near trunk
3.Finger prints or something in some areas of paint
4.I had them install Bomex mirrors and they didnt paint the inside

So what should i do, im afraid hes going to say well it sat awhile so the paint get F-ed up!

UPDATE:
I called the guy he tells that with plastic bumpers you cant get dents and rock chips out! IS this true?
He said he will fix the door handles and the mirrors the other stuff is from sitting for too long.

i say, u ask him to explain why its like the way it is, then tell him you want it fixed for free and in a timely manner. if he does not want to then, u take him to court. simple!

you dont pay up front and he'll never get started on it.. maybe a small downpayment, enough to get started to the point where he'll want to finish to get the rest of the cash.

I get angry when I read threads like this. I just get flashbacks from a shop that did some shit I didn't like.

TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING
Did you have a detailed receipt?
Any work the shop did to your car, that you did not authorize, you are not responsible to pay.
If the owner of the paint shop doesn't want to play ball, file a complaint with the BBB and any where else you can.
If you end up in court, don't expect to recover the $1200 in unauthorized repairs, if you don't have a detailed receipt. But that doesn't mean you can't try.

any legit paint shop, or any legit business wouldn't require payment up front.

Not bad for a 1 day job... I've been on mine for the last week but it's a tri-stage and I want it to look nice... should be done by Friday I hope :)

Coming back from deployment for this!? HA! I'd kill someone. Take him to court if you're in the military you have legal service at your disposal... just go talk to legal about it and get this guy! BAM! Worst that can happen is you pay the court fee if you lose. (unlikely)

Rattlecan black is probably seeming like a good idea at this point.
