I need your creativity on this one. I had a carputer on the S13 with this monitor, it was good for music, videos, GPS, engine monitoring with consult and then datascan, wifi, etc. but I got tired of it since the car only sees a few hours of driving per week so I uninstalled everything and now I have all the components sitting in my bedroom.

What would you do with a 8" touchscreen monitor? I have already considered setting a computer on my bedroom as a media center with the touchscreen as the main monitor and the TV as secondary so that I can select everything from the touchscreen and be displayed on the TV. Second option is to use the same computer to control lights and appliances using the touchscreen as the interface.

Any cool ideas?

yeah im at a toss up between buying a 32' lcd tv, or building a projector around same price.. so far , the results of a hd projector for pc ,tv, ps3 wins over the tv lol

Yeah I need to get a few flat cable extensions and buy my fresnels. I've already got my box drawn out on the MDF. just need to cut is. The PS-One portable screens make great mini projo's.

An 8" screen would prolly be the best of both worlds.

I just checked and the touchscreen membrane is not built in into the LCD so I can detach it and save it to use it on another cheap lcd. I'm sold on the projector idea.

i would use it for a secondary auxilary display for monitoring CPU performance, mp3 player, bit torrent and etc. to free up your main monitor display.

the projector idea sounds pretty sick...

here's the wiki thing on it for anyone who didnt want to go the forum and read and all that DIY Projector Guide - Lumenlab (http://lumenlab.com/wiki/index.php/DIY_Projector_Guide)

so whats the highest res you can get out of that screen anyway? im guessing 800x600 would be your tops for an 8 inch screen, so its not HD res, but its still better than a regular TV set res...
you should definitely post a thread for your build if you decide to do it. im pretty interested.
i actually have a 15" screen sitting around at home, i might end up doing it myself if i find some spare time.......

As far as I remember it can handle resolutions higher than 800x600, maybe 1240x960 or higher but I´ll have to plug it to see about that. I´m sure that 800x600 is not the highest because that´s what I had the monitor set to when it was on the car and that was after I set it lower to be able to read text.
