View Full Version : keep blowing tail light fuses

after playing in the mountains and braking hard at a corner my tail light fuse blew. i replaced it and ever since then it blows out within 2min of driving.
lights are not blown. Any help as to what it could be?

Chances are you inner fender harness got cut from your tires. Check that.

Check the fuse make sure its the right amp, check ur wiring behind ur brake pedal u may have a cut wire thats causing a short um lets c, did u ever change the bulb and maybe got the wrong one??

will do that, never changed the bulb. b.c they are still good.
i have put every amp fuse in there and they still blow.

i checked the passanger side and nothing is touched. :confused:
checked radio ground wire...all good.
Only thing i can think of is lisence plate light touching something?

mine was a short in the passenger front wheel well from tire rubbage as stated above ^^^^^^^

the harness is wrapped in the plastic. hasnet touched the tire at all.
check the radio and made sure no loose wires.
re did the ground.
im fucking clueless.
the cluster and tail lights will stay on as long as i dont drive. as soon as i start the car and start driving the fuse blows

are there any cut wires in your stereo harness that arent taped up or caped off? thats wat my problem was

hmm im having a similar problem and ive checked everything my running lights wont work along with my cluster lights and my brake light fuse blows anytime i touch the pedal i dont have the slightest clue why and it just started doing that one day out of nowhere

For the sake of your car, don't do that. Fuses are rated to a specific amperage for a reason. Putting larger fuses in will just burn up the wiring harness instead.

Bad ground, had that problem found out one of my grounds came loose under the carpet by the seat.
