I am a die hard Porsche fanatic. My friend has recently just purchased a baller 240 and i love these motors. for all you people who do not know, 944's are considered "Junk Porsches" bcs of their motors. they're heavy and weak-sauce motors. however, i had the epiphany of dropping a ka24 motor and turboing it, or an sr20 det. i know that custom working a ka24 would cost some, but i dont want an instant car, bcs i really am wanting around 400-500 whp out of this car. i know hardly anything about these motors except the fact that when done right, they haul major ass. im not sure as to whether or not one of these would work in a 944 but i would greatly appreciate any knowledge that someone could give me. thanks!

"If you have to ask, you (probably) can’t afford it” is a saying used to describe purchases of expensive products, such as homes, cars and jewelry. Financier J. P. Morgan (1837-1913) allegedly gave this advice to banker Henry Clay Pierce in 1902, dissuading him from buying a yacht. Morgan’s authorship has been questioned; the first known form of the saying dates to only 1926.

^^^^ARE YOU FUCKING HIGH???? what the flying fuck does this have to do to anything
anyway go to ka-t.org to find out about your possibilities about turboing a KA. as for the motor itself fitting into said porshe you have to do your own legwork as none of us here know little to none about porshes, but you can do research on sr20. there is plenty information on those.

well it would be a lot of work and i guessing you know that but you would have a pretty hard time with the gauges and other electronics of the car special drive shaft probably have to modify the sub frame to make the engine fit and tranny mount would also be tricky and making everything work around the steering and all that, but if you have enough time and money anything is possible.

didn't you get the memo? everyone's doing LSx swaps now... lol

yes i know, but the idea was to keep the 944 in the 4 cylinder turbo category. the LS1 swap is cool, but it just doesnt have the same appeal to me. im not a big V8 fan. although the power is great, its not really my style.

I would say this is fucking imposible....
With that you would need to rebuild a KA,
Build it with internals and boost it. $$$$$$
Then when that is all ready to drop in you need to somehow custom make the mounts, for the motor, tranz, get a custom made drive shaft, ect. oh and if you want power sterring shit idk what the hell to do with that lol.$$$$$$
Then if by then some Porsche fannatic hasn't already slapped you proceed to the next step.
Drop the motor in (easyer said then done) $$$ aline the tranz and drive shaft, and make it fit. $$
Then when all that is said and dont some jenious with wires has to custom make a harness to convert from porsche to nissan $$$$
Then if all that actually happens you are the richest person in this forum..... big repect for having so much money but mad direspect for waisting it on a project like that sorry my opinion...
but good luck though if you really decide to do this post it up i want ot see

yeah im sure it would cost some, but i think it would be pretty sweet. we porsche owners (for the most part) agree that the 944 motors are shit. the nissan motors, imho, are really nice and cheaper to maintain. i know it would fit in the car but u r right, the problem i thought of was the drive shaft and transaxle. id have to think more on it, but if anyone can come up with a clever idea i would love to hear it. im planning on having round $15000 invested when im done. roughly the same cost as an LS swap on the 944. i understand though if u think its not the greatest thing ever, but i think it would be pretty sweet. idk, im gonna think on it more, but i do believe an sr20 is a smarter motor to install than the KA24.

I'm pretty sure that's the "badass" 240 his friend just bought.
Any more pics or specs for that car?

ok first of all, if u are willing to drop 15 grand on a project like this, why dont u just get a better porsche engine and swap ur shit or get a V8, those things seem to fit everywhere!!! plus ur porsche is heavy and using a KA24 or SR20 is just gonna fuck ur engine in the long run. why hastle with something this stupid. imo!
its like taking a ferrari and put a porsche engine in it, ur just down grading at that point. and how it was said before by someone here about being slapped by a porsche fanatic, i hope someone does slap u back into ur senses!!! porsche and nissan doesnt mix!

these are the only others that i can find so far. ill def get some more on a photo day or something. i know next to hardly anything bout the car other than it produces somewhere near 450-500 whp. also it uses a 300 ZX tranny and brakes, and has a wide body on it.

that doesn't look baller, but i bet the ka-t setup is.
some ideas that would be under 15 grand according to google and not asking zilvia:
ls1 swap
968 or 968 turbo swap
944 turbo swap
or if you're n/a, build your motor plus turbo.
