Yet again love your camera work, pics look great, I especially like the second one.

I'd also like to know the camera you use and some of the basic specs (MP and zoom)

That first image was also taken at the beach at Torrey Pines in San Diego.

My camera is a 3.3 megapixel Sony DSC-S70. Zoom is 10x, iirc, with an extra 6x in digital zoom (which I never use). I can take pics with resolutions up to 2048x1536. I paid a little over $440 for it when retail was around 900. :D Basically, someone bought it as a xmas present, whoever got it took a few pics, decided they didn't like it, and returned it saying it was broken. The store sent it to Sony, who made sure it worked right & sent it back. Then I bought it for about half of it's normal cost!

This is the Jet Cat Express... one of the many ferries to Catalina Island from Long Beach.

yup, zimbabwe to be exact, I haven't really gone out and tried to take any cool pics over here, mainly because due to weather it hasn't looked to great, plus Zimbabwe has some cool sights.

This pic got ruined by the airplane wing, but for some odd reason on all of my flights I was always stuck on the right side of the plane next to the wing, so not that many pics from above.

and this one looks nice too, just under the clouds.

... yet again next to the wing

first experiences with macro, this is in illinois.

Came out pretty good but always room for improvement, I need to learn what all of these features on my camera do.

Anyone know what ISO is?

this is from the chicago center for green technology (they have a wetland). you can see the sears tower in the distance.

chicago's city hall has a "green roof". it's planted with all sorts of foliage. i took a picture from the *other* city hall building, which is a high-rise. i dig this shot.

fireworks at navy pier. i know it's wiggly, but i think it kinda looks cool like that. makes for a nice background...until you get bored of it.

check this out. crazy house designed by bruce goff in the 60s. it's a big circle. awesome.

uiuc240
04-13-2003, 01:30 AM
another one of the same house. this angle is a trip. the structure looks like it's receding into the back, but you're actually seeing a reflection off a glass wall. it's all about geometry.

i'm addicted to taking night shots...especially when there is snow. and then it's fun to get taillights trailing through the shot. i had to wait for a while to make this shot, cuz there were like NO cars out that night.

fun times with 240s and a dime. they were setting up the dime for racing. we were putting whiteline parts in the 240s. good times. many mosquitoes, though.

LOL i don't think I'll break off the wing, but I'll try and make sure I get away from the wing, but its pretty big. I should be going there this winter again, this time I will take a lot more pics, I'll prolly have my 16MB card, 64MB, and soon enough I'll be buying a 256MB card, so plenty of space, only problem is batteries.

hey uuic and kid, what camera's are you guys using?
Olympus D550-Zoom 3.2 MP, 4X Optical zoom (or 3, I forget), either 4 or 3 digital, but i rarely use digital.

This is at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen at Downtown Disney in Anaheim. Good food, and a pretty accurate replication (looks-wise) of New Orleans.
