So, I got a Hallman boost controller installed and a electronic boost gauge (autometer). At iddle the boost gauge reads below the zero line (which is normall I asume since it;s vacuum) right? When I'm driving the car and I punch it the meter reads avobe the zero line, like 5-6 PSI, but just for a few seconds and then drops and I usually run like at 2.5k rmp to test this. Should the boost hold there? what should the boost gauge read when just cruising on the highway?

if it drops then you let go of the gas. just cruising will be in vacuum.

You won't make boost unless you're fullish throttle and above whatever RPM your turbo spools at.

Ok I see, it's stock T25 S13 turbo. So past the 0 on the gauge meter will be my boost reading, but the turbo will have to be spun up to get some boost, so boost really is just a momentary charge of colder air or more air into the TB, got it, thanks. So my next question is, what are the normal circunstances to cause the turbo tu spin up. I know downshifting and putting the gas pedal to the floor will do, basically anything that creates higher exhaust ouput will create boost, correct me if I'm wrong, but what are normal RPMs to create boost? Say in 1st, 2nd, 3rd...etc I assume it will be different based one different engine setups right?

With my redtop (t25) my turbo starts to spool at 2500 rpm in second in first it's kinda weird because my tires start to spin even before I reach like 3lbs because for me in first gear for some reason it takes a little longer to spool up fully, but again it all depends on how much throttle youre giving. I hope I helped u a little and didn't confuse u more.

Nah it's all good. So 2.5k. I think now I know why my car kinda bucks at 2.5k sometimes. I was looking under the car the other day and notice some oil dripping from the turbo return line. I think the hose is tired and broken, so that could cause the engine to get some air in/out and make it behave weird. I ordered a ISIS turbo line kit and will be doing that today, So I hope to get the car running better.
