two cops catch us on a street light 1/2 a mile after....

pulled us over

then said that they heard us spinnin tires...
said it was exhibition of speed...
i finaly gave in and said yes....i know it was a dumb move....:bash: :bash:

so they run my info and my buddies....
then two CHP show up..

they pop my hood and start to write me up for illegal stuff...sr swap and all

then they tell me its getting towed.....fuckkkkkkk

so they take it and will keep it for 30 days....

what do i do...

ive heard stories of people getting there stuff jacked while its at the impound......is that true...

second question .....can i get it out before....

third question...im peg leg ....im thinking about fighting it and explaining to the judge that i cant drift with an open diff....

please if anyone has any info that would help...

Can't drift with open diff? ROFL. That must be the dumbest thing i have ever heard that someone even thought about using in front of a judge. Exhibition of speed on the other hand is a different story. Tell the judge your tires were bald or something, not the "Sorry judge, but i cannot drift with an open diff!!"

Why did it get towed? They give you ref tickets for illegal mods. Do you have any prior tickets? Acted like an ass or something?

What you should've done, is, tell the officer you had to step on gas and tires screeched because of the cars coming other way or some other bullshit.

Take some notes - don't let them get you scared and then you confess everything.

Well there was no cop that actually saw the event occur but about 1/2 mile down the road me and the guy I was racing went our different ways and within minute a cop found me and pulled me over.

i drove not just an s13 with an SR, but a stripped to the fucking BONE s13 with an SR... never had a problem. i got plenty of no front license plate tickets, or even speeding tickets.. but never did i have to pop my hood or anything like that.

Go to the impound everyday and check on your car. Take pics and stuff of it, if shit gets jacked you got some evidence to back you up. I doubt they'll do much about it, but hey its worth a try and also it'd be nice to see your car again wont it?

And like everybody else said, how the hell did they tow away your car for exhibition of speed? And I thought they would need a warrant to pop your hood. A lot of my buddies at YLM don't ever pop their hoods unless they got a warrant.

And about the judge, don't make up an excuse. It'll just be even worse to lie to a judge. I would just tell the judge that you and your buddy were getting rowdy and got too excited and did a VERY stupid thing. Most likely, the judges will appreciate a truth teller. I'm pretty sure they deal with enough liars as it is already.

I live in socal so i know how the cops get if you're driving an import. case in point...i was in an accident a while back. I was the victim of a hit and run but once the chp cop saw i had an intake guess what he asked: 'were you racing?' It took all my self control not to come up with some snarky smart-assed remark...i just told him i bought it that way, and when he said i could have just picked up a stock airbox at a junk yard i just smiled and nodded.

I think alot of the cali regulations regarding swaps and mods are just mind-slappingly stupid. Just pull up and turn their lights on. After that everyone would go a couple blocks closer to the stadiums and race there...back and forth, every night. I spoke to a friend, whos father is a CHP for 20 years, I have to ask the question, You ever been Pulled over and had a REF ticket before? Or the prior owner of the vehicle have a some sort of ' black ball' on the car or Prior REF. i explan the situtation to him and he ask those same question. He said there wasnt a reason to tow you unless one or more of the following you did:

1: Prior REF ticket, or Car has Prior (They have told you once to fix it and have pictures and are now able to tow you because you failed to comply to State laws and guidelines)

2: You were Rude to the Officer ( Insulting a officer will allow the Officer to deal with the situtation with in his best judgement i.e. If you have exhuast, then you must have headers, then you must have something on your motor you should.... Pretty much to sum it up he popped your hood and got a HARD ON!)

3: You were doing more then you stated in your Opening Post.

4: You have something on YOUR personal Record that would allow Officers to use there own personal judgement to call CHP REF's or/and decide to search your car. This one could also lead back to #2, when stated you were rude to a Officer..

That little piece of metal on there chest gives them an Ego the size of Texas.. But playing along and being Nice and Polite with some what stroke there EGO (don't actually stroke them, they may get mad or like it to much and take to to there PERSONAL jail room.. LMAO.. sorry could resist that comment) , so that they think they have a strong hold over you .. then they let you go with a less expensive ticket or no ticket at all..

Funny story because I met a guy earliar today at muffler tech. He got pulled over, (dont know why), cop towed his shiet. They realized it was an illegal motor (ca18) and made him watch his own car get crushed! Happened just last year here in Norcal, Elk Grove.

I live in socal so i know how the cops get if you're driving an import. case in point...i was in an accident a while back. I was the victim of a hit and run but once the chp cop saw i had an intake guess what he asked: 'were you racing?' It took all my self control not to come up with some snarky smart-assed remark...i just told him i bought it that way, and when he said i could have just picked up a stock airbox at a junk yard i just smiled and nodded.

I come back hard at them and ask them if they are profiling and if I need to call a lawyer.
I also enjoy going to the police station and fileing complaints :)
Being part of getting a power abusing officer fired is a good feeling.

Here in CALIFORNIA, peace officers need PROBABLE CAUSE to search a vehicle. The Supreme Court ruled that because the vehicle is "mobile" officers do not need to obtain a warrant. By the time the officer writes one up, gets it approved, have it hand signed by a judge, and serves it, the vehicle would already be gone.

If you're on probation/parole, you are automatically subject to a 3 way search clause (you, your car, your home) so you're pretty much fucked...

Why the fuck do people always make the same mistakes every time!

1. NEVER ADMIT YOU DID IT, UNLESS they have video of the shit on their dash cam or you saw them see you do exactly what you did, then you should just not say anything...dude come on!

2. Don't pop your hood. You can keep your cool, stay professional as possible (unless you look like a shit kicker or have some gay emo hair and piercings then you are fucked right away cops don't like that shit, they cannot relate to you).
They can only force you to pop your hood if they think you are a terrorist threat or have a bomb. Just say I reserve the right to my privacy and you will need a warrant for a judge to look at my engine bay. If they still find something, unless you are considered a terrorist the evidence can and will be thrown out in front of the judge, espeically if you take a Lawyer who can confront the issue in court.

3. This is why you stay SUPER cool when you drive any modified cars on the street in SOCAL. If you are going to do it at all.

I would pull all the parts off of it and sell the chassis and put all the stuff back into a new car, or just part it out and quit the whole scene.

That's what I did when I got my ref ticket. then a couple months later I bought another s chassis and built a way better car, but much quiter and less flashy - sort of
