View Full Version : NA USDM MR2 motor to JDM 3SGTE motor swap? Anyone have any info?

Not for me, for a friend.. I know squat 'bout MR2's.

Tried looking on google and MR2.com, didn't find much.

Does anyone know offhand where I could find some in-depth info on the swap?

they do those A LOT. before the whole 240sx thing i believe they did primarily MR2 swaps
last time was there, they had tons of mr2 clips

My buddy blew his first motor in his MR2 and now he has the 3SGTE in his 91 MR2. Try MR2faq.com. They are pretty good.

All I know is its 245HP turbo 2.0L (but I could be wrong about the displacement)

It'll be fast, but hard to install and work on due to space.

Met a guy about a week ago that did it. He said it was a BIOTCH to install, but worked like a champ. Would give you the name of the shop that he works for, but it is all the way over on the east coast, and I doubt the long distance bills from CA would be worth your while.
