My car is a daily commuter and i've narrowed it down to 2 choices.
Nitto 555 or Yokohama ES100. The difference is $20 per tire. I want something that can grip and have decent tire wear and low road noice...i know i'm asking for alot but which would you guys choose? My budget is $160 per tire.

most people i know who use the 555 f'in HATE it.
i know a lot who use (used) ES100s w/ no complaints and like them A LOT

i'm getting those myself shortly

The only thing I'd buy from ****to is drag radials.

ES100 is a good tire.

What size are you looking for and how long do you expect the tire to last? $160/tire buys a LOT... Hell I think all four of my AVS Intermediates were under $160 (closeout w00t w00t).

Greg copied me on wheels. I bought the typhoons first in gunmetal but later he bought a set in Hyper Silver. He copied me in SR20 too :D

I have the intermediates too, love them. I was checking on tire rack and it seems like they're basically out. When you go and look at it only lists 2 sizes and i think one is like for 13's and the other is something weird. Which sucks, because i was thinking about picking up another set when i finally get new wheels. But check out Dunlop FM901s, i've heard good things about them and was thinking about trying them out this summer. But the ES100's don't sound bad either. Those and the FM901s are actually the two tires i recommended to my roommate for new tires on his integra. And you gotta love the price for both of them. With the budget you listed you could get either set of these tires and have a bunch of money left over for something else.

The Kumho Ecsta 712 is a GREAT daily driver/performance tire.

Good for 20K+ miles, unbelievable wet traction, and decent dry traction. Definatly at least equivilent to the ES100...

Pretty mean looking tread pattern too. :)
