I busted my fujifilm 4800z :(

Its grey market so I cant get it fixed. I was looking for a new camera and so far I like the Canon s200 and s230...

basically looking for something 2-3 pixels with good video support (i.e. 640x480 w/ audio [canon has this, i was suprised any of them did 640x480, even though it is only for 30 seconds at a time]

Any other cameras out there with this type of video support? I am trying to keep it under 3.5 bills. thanks

yea i recommend the s230. it's a really sweet camera. my friend has it and i've been hogging it since he did :P it's great. love the size. it could have a better zoom, but that's all good. if you can find it cheap, def get it.

i have the S30 as well...awesome camera.

video is 320x240 max at 30 seconds per. not sure which models do 640x480.

but yeah, it's more than $350. more like $400. and you really really need more than the 16mb card that it comes with. what did your Fuji take? compactflash?

another GREAT site is www.megapixel.net

Teh Fuji took smartmedia. I had a 32 mb card and never filled it up before the battery died. I dropped it thats why it broke

I like the Fuji S-602 awesome digital camera with SLR capabilities.
It does do movies at 640x480 with sound. It's also advertised as a camera with 6 million pixels but it only uses 3.2 million. Runs around 700 though twice as much as you want. You may want to look into the Canon a70 it runs at 350.

My suggestion is, and I'm saying this because I've been working at ritz camera for about 2 and 1/2 years now, is to buy a camera and test it out. Save all the packaging and warranty cards if you don't like it return it get another one and test that one out till you find it. If you are also wondering about return policies for other stores find a Ritz Camera or Wolf Photo and do this. That's usually what I suggest to customers that come in.

dsc-p72 has 2 video modes: MPEG VX (640x480, 16fps, with audio) and MPEG Video Mail (160x112, 8 fps with audio)

i have a canon s300 and i love it... i paid $220 on ebay and it came with 2 batteries and 200mb of memory though so i got a damn good deal. i would say to look at the Sony P7 or something if you want good video support. My friend has one and the length of the video is only limited by the memory card, where as it sucks on canon since its limited to only about 15 seconds depending on quality.

all of the pictures/videos at these links were taken with my friends P7, u can see just how the quality is:

I've also heard good things about the Canon S40.. but i'm sure its out of your price range

I was on http://www.dpreview.com/ a lot when I was looking for my camera. I ended up with a Canon A40, which is already discontinued, but at the time it was one of the only compact 2mp cameras with manual capabilities, continuous drive, and decent imaging. The continuous drive function rocks at autox events. I can pretty much capture an entire run with 1mp shots, which gives a nice photo selection. Assuming the A60 or A70 don't lose any features of the A40, I'd definitely recommend them.

The next camera I want to get is the Fujifilm S602z though. Great zoom and a 30fps movie mode that's only limited to card size......
