For sale is my beloved Z. I would keep this beautiful car but I am a full time student and just can't justify keeping her anymore. Most of the time the car just sits because I have another car for commuting.
The car is a true first series car with a build date of 5/70. The VIN is 4350, one of the first 5000 Z cars ever built!
Mileage on the chassis is 94xxx. Mileage on the engine is unknown. This is a replacement that some fool who didn't know much about these cars did back in the 80s. Unfortuneately the original engine block and cyl. head are long gone. The current engine is a L24 with an E88 head and intake manifold. The carbs are rebuilt Z Therapy units and work brilliantly. I recently did a valve adjustment and carb tune along with timing adjustment. The engine runs very nicely. Perfect oil pressure readings and the amps meter is always steady.
The body of this car is straight and clean. There are a few spots of minor rust in the usual places, but nothing serious. The fool who kept this car back in the 80s ( second owner ) also changed the paint from the original 905 red to some hideous burgandy brown that was all the rage back then. I had the car resprayed a few years ago with the green you see in the photos. The color is the factory 113 green metallic first offered in 1972.
The interior is ok. Mostly original and showing its age.
Modifications are few, they include: 6-1 headers and a 2.5 exhaust, Ebach lowering springs, Sparco racing seat, strut tower braces, front air dam, and after market wheels.
The bad about this car is that the exhaust has a couple of holes and needs to be patched up. Right now it is really loud. Also there is steering wheel shake that feels like rotten bushings. This only happens at higher speeds, the car still drives straight and handles great. Also the door seals need to be replaced. Lastly, the center U-joint of the propshaft needs lube. Right now it is squeaking under hard accerlation. It sounds really ugly and that is the worst of it, at cruise and light throttle the squeak is not there.
Thanks! Feel free to contact me with any questions. Sorry, no trades.
