Anyone have any nice setups for subwoofers in their s13's? Mine is both daily and track/beater. Just was curious if anyone else out their had subs in their drift cars (Inspired by Jon Chow).

Mine and why I need a better mounting. I have plenty of ideas on how to mount it, just been lazy so this is how it stands and what happened after a hour of drifting with Mario.

^Super boom! cracked my center piece by smacking out the left taillight. (As well as ripping up the wiring on the taillights by sliding around).

man why don't you have a rear strut tower bar?

get a strut tower bar and fasten the enclosure to the strut tower bar.

or just get some ratchet straps and get creative.

Insignia? Gross.

I have a SI Mag in a 2 cuft box at 32 Hz.

Use L brackets to keep it in the car BTW. Attach them to your box, have mounts in the floor and there you have an easily removable but sturdy set up.

I was going to say velcro but you dont have carpet.

You have 2 options:

Secure
or
Remove

Oh what a dilemma.

Either or will work. Just get some L brackets, or like suggested, a rear strut tower bar and some straps. Otherwise pull them when you go drifting. But they should be succured anyways regardless of if you are drifting or not.

What's the point of listening to music if others can't hear it.

My S13 will have subs when I'm finished.

Track car with no kickin tunes = not nearly as rad.

I'd rock a full sound system and daily and drift. Its the same reason why i have full interior with a full cage xDDDD

L brackets!!!

but you need a wooden trunk floor for that... take a big piece of wood and cut it to fit your trunk... easy peasy

Secure it take it from a person with first hand exprience. In the event you have an accident during your daily communte the last thing you want to worry about are items flying around inside your car. Giving you a concusion or worse.

round off the corners of your box and put it down in the wheel well. cut a 4 in hole in the bottom to clear the mount bracket, and then put a long single bold down in between your subs.

Are you kidding me?

Bolts/screws/metal. Done.
Or...
This one's tough...
Pull two wires, lift sub out of car. Slide.

i'd have to agree, get some good speakers or a smaller sub, you dont need something huge to be bumpin in a 240, just do your homework on your sub/and or speaker set up and you can have it just right.

I understand the mounting and securing and all that. I was hoping someone would post pics up with subs in their track cars that are gutted and maybe even caged.

The reason why this was inspired by Jon Chow's was because I remember his 2 10's were mounted in there all clever-like..

Sorry I like music bumpin' when I'm sliding. The kinda bumpin' that vibrates your insides.

get a bunch of pillows and wedge them tightly all the way around the box. OR!!!!!!!!: go to home depot and buy a couple square metal pipes and have a buddy weld u a cage and then weld the cage into the trunk! totally functional sound system/trunk brace!!!! JDM!!!!!!

Is that the new SI Mag or the old one?

the new one only requires a 1 cu ft enclosure in a sealed box ftw...

That's what my new setup will be comprised off...

Looking to sell my 15" RE HC out of my Altima to buy one :)

Nah the old one. v2 D2 one. I used to have an RE SX and an Adire Shiva. The mag is by far my favorite.

With 2 Insignia's in a sealed box? I don't think so.
