Cleaning rotors?????

I bought some rotors off a friend a while back and im just know getting ready to put them on. I wanted to clean them up and make them look better before I put them on. They have a some very slight surface rust from being in storage for so long.

What do you use to clean them????? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

They're Brembo drilled and slotted if that helps any.

slight surface rust will come off when you drive an apply the brakes. if its really bad have then turned.

You can lightly sand them just make sure you don't sand one spot too much and make them uneven.

if it's small, you're better off just installing them, and let the pads get rid of the rust.

Do not sand them if they have slots.

i was thinking about using some carb or brake cleaner and a toothbrush

If it's on the rotor surface spray with brake clean and that's it. When you apply the brakes the brakes will take the rust off.

Theres only a bit of surface rust on the rotors so it should come right off. Im just want them looking as close to brand new as possible...

Why? In a month they'll look just as old and used as any other rotor.

leave a thick layer of vasoline on them when you put them back on the car. it helps keep the water off and keep them from rusting.
