G/I 1991 SE w/ 40K

I bought this car back in October 08' its a 1991' 240 SX SE HB.
It had 19k on the clock when I bought it, it jnow has a little over 43k
Im thinking about selling it, as I have kinda lost interest,
and plus the motor was making noise possible rod knock or wrist pin slap??

NOTE: I have installed a Brand New Crate Motor Long Block, I bought from J.I.S. Engines out of Texas and have the Paperwork to prove it.
I also had my friend who is an A.S.E. Certified Platinum Mechanic at Honda help install it and he too is very meticulous and neat as I like to be.
I have put a little over 3k miles on this motor and it runs great, no issues I would drive this car anywhere.

Please note: I have all the parts to return this car to STOCK minus the factory struts and Rims.

Clean Title In Hand!

Its Factory Paint Aztec Red that has been buffed by the Best Paint Detailer in this town , Has Perfect Interior.
Everything Works On This Car, A/C, P/S, P/W, P/L, C/C, P/M, Seat Belts, SunRoof is Manual.

Since I have owned the car I have done the following:

Service:
Changed all fluids:
New NGK Iridium Plugs
Oil- Castrol GTX 10w30 every 3-3500 miles can be verified through the local Nissan Dealership
Trans Flush w/ Nissan ATF
Power Steering Flush-Nissan Fluid
Brake Fluid Flush-Nissan Fluid
Rear End- Lucas 80/90
Radiator Flush- Nissan Fluid
All Belts - New Nissan OEM
Fuel Filter- Nissan
Fuel Pump Seal-Nissan OEM
Filler Neck- Nissan OEM
NEW Bosch Icon Wipers

Also when the New engine was installed I put in:
FLEX-A-LITE Dual Electric Fans &
Megan Racing Motor & Trans Mounts
Along with a DC Sports Ceramic Coated Header

300ZX 30mm Front Brakes (Rebuilt New Seals, Cleaned and Painted Black, Nissan was sanded back to Aluminum)
New Nissan OEM Pads and Hardware -Fronts
Z32 Master Cylinder 1/1/16 Reman Advanced Auto Parts
Circuit Sports Stainless Lines Front Only
Circuit Sports Slotted Drilled Front Rotors
New Rear Rotors - Advanced Auto Parts Redrilled for 5lug, also OEM Nissan Pads

5 Lug Conversion:
Ichiba 5 Lug Hubs Front and Rear

Factory Speakers will be re-installed in the doors
Has Tweeters mounted in door panels.
Also will leave the Custom Sub Box in the Car but no Sub Woofer.

DC Sports Ceramic Coated Header
w/ Mr. Gasket Copper Gasket

Rear End:
J30 Rear End w/ 86K on it (not installed yet)
Also have Energy Suspension Bushings for this as well.

Rear Fenders Rolled with an Eastwood Fender Roller!!

TSW Nagaro Hyper Silver 18x8(2"Lip) front 20mm, 18x9(3" Lip) rear 20mm
Tires are NEW BFG AS/SuperSports 225/40 front 235/40 Rear - 90% Tread

It can be stock again, I have all the parts to put it back to stock, including the stock SE Wheels with Factory Toyo Tires on them still.
I have every piece of it!! LOL, even the factory springs, only thing I didnt save was the struts cause one was blown.
Also the vinyl overlay can be peeled off to reveal the flawless paint still.

Rod knock or wrist pin slap on a 40k KA? Highly unlikely. I would suggest you try and verify that mileage. Is the car a Salvage title?
That would explain the extremely low mileage and the fact that the original engine might have been sold and a higher mileage engine swapped in.

Though ya low mileage KA's are not known for developing rod knocks or wrist pin slap. Unless someone runs it out of oil and drives it for a bit before putting oil back in. LOL

No the car was bought in May or June of 1991 by the guy I bought it off of.
The cars title is clear and the mileage was verified.
Im baffled by this as well???? It doesnt sound like rod knock to me, but I cant telll what it is ?? I took it to the Nissan dealer and they did the same thing we did when we checked, pulled the plug wires, pulled the valve cover etc..
Its very very strange to me as well.
I have blown an SR before and my friends have spun a few rod bearings before and it doesnt sound the same.

Whats even stranger is I had the oil changed the day before it started making the noise at the dealership.

But I cant pin-point the noise it may not be either one?
I pulled the top guide and it was fine no marks, chain was tight, motor is very clean, and the oil is still clean,
no metal shavings, shiny stuff etc..

I wish i knew someone who knew KA's better than me and could find this noise

Shit this car should be kept stock except for a little suspension and wheels. Otherwise it should just be preserved. This is the kinda of car that If I found it, I would not modify it beyond what I wrote above. Its just to rare and low mileage.

Someone needs to buy this fine specimen and keep it that way.

bump for legitimacy and cleanliness of this jewel of a 240. seen it in person many, many times and i still have yet to find an imperfection. iirc the factory plastic covering is still on the rear seats, at least it was the last time i saw it. lol.

i'd buy it, but my in broke/in mad college debt self cant even afford to fix up my own 2slowty. lol. nor do i have a garage to keep this beautiful car safe from the elements in. lol. i'd say keep it!

Ok I found the noise, I guess my motor was built on a Monday or Friday LOL
It is the start of rod knock. Sucks to be me! Ohh well,
I guess I should not be so on top of my maintenance, since I know people who neglet the crap out of their cars, and they still run hahahaha.

So I ordered a New Engine today from J.I.S. and will be installing it as soon as it gets here.

So for now Im gonna hold off selling the car but I am open to trades or partial trades etc..
