Hi, I'm new to the nissans... I've been a Honda fan for a long time now and I decided to switch to the nissans because I've taken FF to the max and the only way to get better is by getting a FR, that and nissan pwns all. =)
My Question:
I've been reading the posts about the SR20DET. If it's a smaller engine (2.0 instead of 2.2) so why is it better? I know the SR20DET comes with turbo stock, but if you turbo the KA, won't it have better performance overall?
PS: Please don't slap me for such a stupid question =)

this is an arguemant that no one side has won search for KA vs SR and look at it then make your own decision as to which you personally prefer because it is your car and therefore it should reflect your personal preferences and decisions

yes it may seem escapist but I know for a fact this exact topic just had a lengthy thread a few days ago, and there is currently a topic open (disadvantages of sr20) that addresses these same concerns. So try a search for it, you will come up with enough reading material to last you for 3 weeks or if you print it out, 3 good dumps.
lol.
BTW the ka is 2.4 liter.
ka24e or de.

asking "KA vs. SR" is akin to saying "hey everybody let's yell at each other and call each other names for a week!" :D

Haha....true that. But back to the subject at hand, My advice would be to go with whatever is more oportunistic. If you got connections for SR parts go SR, other than that either engine should be good for lots of power. It just depends on how do you want your power served;) .

A lot of people who are interested in the SR20DET also are JDM heads, and a lot of people who stick with the KA24 are pure powerholics.
Of course this doesn't apply to everyone, but it seems to be a very common case. But as everyone else said, whatever you see best is what you should go with, they both have their pluses and weaknesses.
