Price of KA parts... Complaints

How come I can't find a KA24E/DE transmission of any year, even with 150000 miles on it for, less than 500$? What is wrong with this picture? Also did anyone notice the nissan part list is mad expensive. A KA24E bare block is 2400$. How does that make any sense?
