well, finally made it out to my first "drift event", so cal style....i must admit ive always been a honda guy, strait line racer....i think ive been converted....the atmosphere at the rs-R event was crazy....by the time i got there (about 3:30, i know it was late, but had to work....) the crowd was kinda small, but thats ok, cuz i got to see that much more....the people were all cool, there wasnt that "my car's better than yours" attitude you see in the 'honda scene'...the driving i saw made my jaw drop...wish i had found this site sooner, so maybe i coulda met some of you other members....cant wait to attend my next drift event...when is there another one?

now...ill post some pics i took...is there any way to attach mpegs?

That red 180 is so nice, Richard Tang I believe is the owner of the car, very nicely done. Anyone know what size and offset tires he is running, he has some crazy lip on there :D

his tires got SLIGHTLY larger now (i think?), but still stretched and daily driven. :) I forget demensions on the new tires.

WHEEL:
Work Mister S1
F: 18x9.5 +3 R: 18x11.5 +1

last time his tires were:
235/40/18
265/35/18

maybe stayed same, i forget.

You should see a regular (i.e. drifters only, not a big public relations event like this RSR one) drift event... the crowd is so much cooler! The guys yesterday just didn't know what they were seeing. they were all silent behind the fencing, filming. I was out there between the concrete walls and fences yelling my nuts out as each driver came by... the only one cheering. :(

People at regular drift events are even cooler. it's such a friendly atmosphere! People who're taking part in the events (or drifters in the crowd) are usually cooler than the show/drag/other guys in the crowd. For example, yesterday I blew my radiator up next to the skid pad. A guy in a red ae86 helped me clean up the mess, then pulled out a tow rope and pulled me back into pits. He later stopped by my car and handed me some JB weld that he and his friends had lying around... that's what the drift culture is all about! friendly people out there just having a good time.

That said, next event is I think in May. Check www.club4ag.com. You'll like that site, too. :)

Serious, my first club4ag event and it was a blast.

Oh yeah, I found out who the fags were that were stealing the flags. Honda boys never cease to amaze me.

For those that aren't registered:

Quote NrG:
oh yea, a few friends were bored that they didnt get **** from the show, so they started going up near the track, thinking about grabing one of those RSR Flags, a little kid next to them jumps over the gate and grab one.. then i see like 10 people grab one, so i run like 20 feet up to the gate, jump over it, and grab the nearest one lol. but the gay RSR event guys came up to us and asked for them back.
damn that sucks, that flag would look good in my room, or on ebay hah.

Quote alphadrewdc2:
the event was pretty weak compared to drift showoff but it was still cool. I managed to stuff an RSR flag into my backpack before any of the RSR guys could ask for them back. My friend was luckier and grabbed an advan flag.

bigger wheel doesnt make it harder. maybe easier if you have the power. why?

tire is streched and smaller (no sidewall flex)
camber helps of course, so less contact patch
smaller tire no flex easier to break! :)

very japanese style=jdmrice! :D
