Does anyone know where I could get a Tomei SR20DET crate motor? Any recommended websites to check out?

Here (http://www.google.com)

Edit: dammit I can't be mean.

For something as specialized as that I doubt you could do it through one of the distributors in the US. Best bet is to find a way to contact Tomie Japan. And or try Takakira(sp?).com send them an email as I'm sure they can work something out for you.

They seriously cost that much, i though they were only like 8Kish

They have different types IIRC, like different HP outputs, from like 250-400, but don't remember numbers exactly. Find the tomei site, its prolly www.tomei.co.jp, if not just type in tomei, or tomei blue top engine in serch. Sites in japanese though, but you can tell HP outputs and prices if you conver yen to dollars.

Also check out JUN motors, I know takakaira has em, most of these motors are 2.2L and all are basically full race motors, so it will be a waste on a daily driver, but great for a track whore.

From what i've heard Tomei sr20det motor costs around the price of a new Deawoo. im sure you want to dish out the money(9k for base Daewoo Lanos) for getting your hands on one of those. plus it wouldnt suprise me if you cant get one unless you have a offical race team either in japan or here

You don't need an official race team, Non Fujita has a Tomei, I know he has a shop, Enovative sumthing or other, I don't know about a race team.

Money is money, no matter what country you're in.

Argh, I can't rememebr where it was but there was a shop that will do all the sleeving and stuff to the head (not sleeve the head but port etc) and block for like 2-3grand. After that just get a tomei stoker kit (3800), cams (500), Head set (560), turbo kit (1800-5000), and intake manifold (500) and your set. It's just a matter of your fuel management setup (standalone Power-FC 1800, injectors, pump, MAF) and your pretty much done.

I posted that message because I thought you could get them in the states somewhere. I live in Japan and I know I could get it. I was wondering if there is a shop that could also supply them.
