So i bought this 95 240 with around 7K on the rebuilt engine. now i know for a fact that it has a cometic head gasket, arp head studs and the block was sent to a machine shop for it to be bored. Not sure about the pistons though and am trying to get ahold of the previous owner for more info. But the other day the car started fine and then died. I restarted it and it ran fine, until i started to drive it seemed like almost all the power was lost. It wasnt leaking oil or anything so some of my other friends who are a little more knowlegible about 240's ruled it as maybe a piston ring was fried. We did a compression test and the numbers were 130, 130, 120, 125. now i know the regular compression should be around 179ish. Also some of the spark pugs were mismatched and looking pretty bad and the ignition wires were pretty bad as well. Im going tomorrow to get new plugs and wires, and if that doesnt work should i rule it as a fried ring? any feedback would be greatly appreciated
