This is meant completely as a joke. No offense to you SR owners :P
So, I prepared my car and got all my crap ready for the Auto X tomorrow, which I'll be using as a "set-up" day for the NER event the sunday after. This involved getting the cameras ready (I'll have an in- car camera for once!!), the mounting hardware set up, and taking all the crap out of my car. Taking the crap out of my trunk literally changed the behavior of my car!! Winter and so much mechanical work on my car just ended up stockpiling it all in the trunk. LoL.
The other thing I did... was to get my equipment ready, I.E. the helmet, as you can see. I've been meaning to do a sticker like that for a while as a joke since my neighbor (who owns an '01 Sentra SE) busts my balls daily about the "truck engine", and put a sign on my door when I got the new engine that read: "THAT'S NOT AN SR20DET :( !" Feel free to give any suggestions as to what else to put on it!
Finally, I remounted some of the gauges and repainted my center console trim for the 4th time (flat black... will have another pic when I put in in in a few minutes).
But... most of you are already replying about the pic instead of reading this post aren't you.
P.S. I was about to post this in Motorsports, but there's really nothing Motorsports about the thread, it's mostly a reason to post the helmet :P

Where is the Auto X going on? I live in RI and haven't heard anything about it. If it's close, i'd like to run my car there.

Yeah... I found an M2000 helmet at a pawn shop for $45 so I bought it. Seems nice, even though I won't be able to use it on a track since it isn't SA2000.
I didn't install the rear AGX's yet. I ended up getting a deal on a Greddy DD that I couldn't pass up, so, unfortunately i won't have the AGX's for a week or so. Next week at the earliest since someone is supposed to be buying my old subwoofers and amp.
I'll be running in SM along with an SR powered S13 that I know :P The sketch on the helmet should just make things a bit more interesting :D

Good luck with the event, hope there is an SR there, and I hope he owns you :p .
Take lots of pics, can't wait to see the vid, make sure nothing rattles over your car.

my last post in this thread stated there'll be an SR powered S13 there. Blacktop engine (I think S14 actually) with the boost controller set somewhere between 10 - 14psi. He's got the same tires, and better shocks (AGX's, while I have GR-2's up front and stockers in the back at the moment), plus new TC rods.
But... I've got better brakes, and more experience. Plus my own very intimidating helmet!!

Unfortunately my cleanest run happened right after the camera ran out of batteries.
I uploaded one run that had less wind noise than the others:

Probably best to right click and save as.
Pics are coming, none of my car, but a bunch of the 2 SR powered S13's that were a few seconds behind me :p

Sounds real nice, even over all the background noise. What did you place in, and do you have a chance at all in SM, cuz a lot of people on here say turbo 240s will never be competitive in SM.

lets put it this way, I was like 3 seconds off the fastest SM times. Slicks, AGX's, and swaybars would help, lol. Really though, the driver needs some fine tuning and I think it'll compete pretty well. I wouldn't say a 240 in SM would NEVER be competative.... JMCN on FA didn't do to badly in SM at a few events last season, and he did that while he was still NA.

Did you make your own camera mount? I just made one a few days ago. I basically just clamped the camera to the passenger seat. I'am wondering what the rules are for having a camera mounted in your car at an auto-X. I have not watched your vid yet (56K) I will watch it later to check out the view from your setup.:)

the camera is bolted directly to the rear deck. i'll probably have to make a bracket for it next time to moun the camera slightly higher and more forward so it looks over the hood more. I think the rules are that the camera has to be bolted down, but as long as it's secure and doesn't wiggle on its mount it should be ok.

wow.. great video ace...
are you on third gear of second gear?
but i can see the car pulls really hard coming out of a corner...
do you have any lsd on the car?
Autox was a blast, ace in the hole wooped on me, but this was only my 4th autox, and first autox with non bald non all season tires.

those are videos of me, ace in the hole, and my friend with a GVR4
Car was really really flat, for agx's/prokits, much better with fm901's this year.
The other Sr that was there was his first autox, and he, had some problems:), not that i didnt too though.

yeah. you can definitely see Thon's car staying slightly flatter than my car even with lower springrates (at least, I recall Prokits having lower rates). I really need to upgrade my dampening.
Also, I've got no VLSD, so I couldn't get on full throttle. My best time during the fun runs was taking it easy out of the corners to keep traction!!
What I need to do now is:
1. get better tires for autox
2. get better shocks/ struts
3. be lighter on the throttle and harder on the brake (didn't feel like I was pushing the new brakes very hard.)
I'm going to be installing new swaybar bushings hopefully this week, and relocating the battery to the trunk to try and get more rear traction for accelerating out of corners. Guess I'll see how the weather goes, hopefully some sun will come out tues. or thurs. when I have a lot of time free.
