I bought the kit cause it was cheap and I got most of my parts I need. My question is can I use that t3/t4 housing and rebuilt it to a better ball bearing turbo or do you think the housing will crack? It's a TO4E T3/T4 AR .50 on one side and AR .63 on the other and supposedly handles only 7psi. Yes I know it's a crap turbo but I was trying to see if you could use the housing and rebuild it rather than buy a new turbo. I'm trying to get a 15-20 psi stable one built so I can run at 12 on my sohc. It'd be a lot cheaper to rebuild with ball bearings than buying a brand new one I figured so I was going to try that first. There is no shaft play at all. Does anyone have any experience in turbo rebuilding and if it's possible to replace a journal system with a dual or single cartridge ball bearing system? Also anyone use their exhaust manifold for the ka24e before? Will it crack easy or should I be fine running it? Thanks in advance.

Very good point. Sweet thanks for that advice. Now anyone know about the manifold?

youd be better off piecing a kit together yourself. There are cast t3/t4 turbo manifolds available for the ka pretty cheap, get a used turbo and rebuild it, diy intercooler piping and exhaust side, junkyard intercooler from a turbo diesel ford, get rx7 injectors if kae or STi injectors if kade (both about 550cc) chip your ecu and do all the smaller things like oil and coolant lines.. should be alright on a low budget..

I already got the kit mad cheap off of here. I have their intercooler which I heard was all right, all the piping, got a blitz bov just need a better wastegate, 550cc injectors, e-manage ultimate for tuning. I'm also rebuilding the engine with new head, eagle rods, and some new pistons. I have the cx racing manifold already just wondering if I should use something different in case it cracks but I don't know if the exhaust piping will fit right up but in theory in should. this is going to be my everyday driver but I'm building the motor strong so I don't have to worry about breaking it. If they are crap, I was just going to sell the exhaust manifold and turbo on ebay and get something a little better. The only thing I'm worried about for the build is the manifold and the turbo really. The rest should be stable. I was thinking about these cause they aren't too expensive: New Garrett Journal BearingTurbos (http://www.gpopshop.com/garrettturbosjbnew.html). Are oil and coolant cooled turbos way better than just oil bearing ones or will it stay cool enough with just oil cooled and an oil cooler I already have? I know ball bearing spool faster but on a budget here for this build LoL. And the more I read about it the less I trust the cxracing turbo housing. BTW planning on running 7-10 psi on the street and spike up to 15 for race purposes at the track. So I'm trying to have at as stable as possible with the last two parts I don't like.

id say go with a cast manifold. use the turbo as long as it lasts and get a garrett as soon as you can. piping should be fine
