I have a question for you guys, so plz help me out
im planning on buying a s13 coupe sr20det,but it has a reff ticket
NOW heres the question:
Does that apply to me,meaning do i gotta take it to state reff still??

I think the rule changed somewhere within the past year or so.... anyways... just call the DMV dude!

not sure but if one person got the ref ticket it wouldnt apply to the new owner. but i dont know if the car would be cleared too

The ticket does not transfer, though you would have to go through getting the car smogged to register it. Unless the seller is offering that do not buy it. Any other advice as far as it being smogged goes well this is a public forum and not the place to be asking. I.E. If you even have to ask you should not be going there.

Cleared meaning you won't have to go to the reg? I'm believe so, but you still have to SMOG the car before being able to register it in your name.

The reff ticket does not transfer it only applies to the person's name is registered at the time....... You can put the car in your name and pay the registration fee's but you just wont be able to drive it until you get it smogged but you can always get the one month pass to drive around meanwhile you find someone to smogg it and that shouldn't be a problem if you know people...just going to cost somewhere around 200 bucks

As said by others make sure you can find some one to smog it before you buy it unless this will be strictly a track car.
