Well before buying my new wheel and tire combo I searched what would fit my car (s13) and came up with 17 x 9.5 +18 enkei rpf1's and 245/40/r17 tires. Other people seem to run them with no problem. My front tires however (esp the left since there is more weight there) hit the coilover and high angle turns. I tried to keep on compensating for it by raising the ride height and increasing the suspension preload which seems to help, but my car looks retarded, low in the back and rally car style up front. I can't drive around like this, what would you guys suggest as the best solution?

Keep in mind I just spent 1800 on new rims and tires and dont have that much more to spend fixing this -_-

People don't know how to give advice should not be posting.

I have 245 45 R 17's on my S14 on the front and I had a similar issue with my front wheels. I had to add a 1/4" spacer to that the wheel wouldn't rub my coilover. I am able to lower the front pretty low without any issues. I also rolled my fenders just in case.

Different tire manufactures have different sidewall/tread width clearances for the same size. One brand/model may have more rubber around the bead and the tread side then others.

You have adjustable camber plates? You can loosen the knuckle bolts and pull out to get the wheel away from the coil. Even notch the upper bolt hole on the mount. Then dial the camber back down with the plates up top.

Hmm I didn't want to get spacers, I heard some tracks don't allow cars with them for liability reasons or something (don't know for sure), also I would need to get extended studs.

Where are these knuckle bolts you are referring to? I do have camber plates, but adjusting those moves the coilover itself too so it is not a solution.

The 2 bolts on the bottom of the coilover.

Oh okay I get what you were saying, yeah I tried all that except for the notching, I honestly don't trust myself to do that haha....

Would going with 235/40 tires and a 9 inch rim clear much better? (given a similar offset)

I'll give it a shot, how much thread is acceptable on the wheels studs (minimum) when running spacers until you are pretty much forced to buy extended ones?
