Doing a track day next weekend and i have a little problem.

Setup

Front
Cadillac CTSV brembos
stainless steel lines
Hawk Hp plus
Powerslot 330mm rotors

Rear
Z32 2 pistons
stock pads
stainless lines
stock rotors

Master cylinder / fluid
1 inch z32
Motul dot4 or 5 i cant remember

The system is bled and flushed and works perfect. Thing is the fronts are so aggressive and have so much bite that it over powers the rear way to much if i had to put a number on it it feels like 80/20. Also since the back is completly stock i think this is why.

What im looking for is a fairly aggresive rear pad for the z32 calipers to help balance it out a bit, im thinking a pretty cold pad as i cant imagine the rears generating so much heat.

So maybe a hawk hps or should i go with the hp plus right off the back

Go with the HP+, also try a proportioning valve. They are like $40 from
summit.

+1 on the valve.

+1

try ENDLESS ceramic Pads aggressive as fuck and will eat the rotor away...

HPS+ is ok tho,

how would i install a prop valve in front, i know mechanicly how to do it obviously. But i would need two, one for each side since theres two front brake lines, how would i balance between left to right?

You would remove the factory one hanging out of the rear port cut the rear line a couple inches from the Master and install it.

If it is full internal. You can plug one of the front outs then run 1 line to the proportioning valve and then to a splitter. Some of the valves have splitters in them.

Yea since its for the front then your saying it would be ok to plug one of the front outlets and split it after the prop valve. Ok i got it

Actually before I say that....

Wait I thought the fluid hits the front of the lines first and proportions to the rear? Is that not correct? So wouldn't you proportion the front brakes?

What? You want to limit the flow of fluid to the front brakes and force more to the rear to keep the front from locking up so quickly.

Yeah exactly, but isn't the stock "limiter" or proportioning valve inside the MBC? With that, doesn't the MBC send fluid to the front before the rear?

Yes, but he has brembos with a huge pad surface area so it takes even less pressure to lock them up. So he needs to limit the flow to the front even more than stock.

Yes correct, a proportioning valve only reduces pressure, therefore he needs to put it on the 2 front lines....

But I would try Porterfield R4 (not R4S) on the rear. Try that.... They are way better than that crappy Hawk junk HP+ even.

Isn't that what everybody else said?
