So my car started "clunking" really loud from the front of the car about a week ago. I can be at a dead stop or even rolling, but when i turn the steering wheel i hear and feel a "clunk" noise. Any ideas of what this could be?
I checked out my outer tie rod ends and they are wasted. Gonna purchase some new ones from Phase2 tomorrow but want to be sure these will just screw onto the stock s14 inner tie rod ends.....Thanks guys.

Do you have coilovers? Are the springs binding when you turn?

Yup, i have coilovers and i think that's the problem! Went out with my brother and he said the noise is coming from my coilovers, so i put my hand on the top of my coilovers and had him turn the wheel and when i heard the "clunking" noise i also felt it on my hand that was touching the coilover.

Spray some wd-40 on the top and bottom mounts for the springs and see if it helps.

did u just install the coilovers? if u did it could be too much preload or the top nut isnt tight enough

Yeah it won't be permanent but it'll help you diagnose the problem.

If that fixes the problem buy some torrington bearings (they actually sell them on Amazon.com). You just need to find out what your spring diameter is. You need one bearing and two washers per side.
Here is a link to some 2.5" bearings:

Here's a link to the 2.5" washers/race:

Had the coilovers on for about 4 months now.
I'll go ahead and check the nut to make sure it hasn't come lose!
Thanks guys.
