Use a air saw, and cut 1" above the body line.

bring it down to the lower body line, that way you leave the edges to mount your aero..

don't you have to reinforce it or something because im in the process of doing the same but was wondering about it

You could reinforce it. Im seen folks fill the underside with those spray on foam, catch is it gets fucking messy. Another idea was use those sponge blocks that florist use for flower design. Slap it under the over fender and shave/mold it to fit between the fender and over fender.

From what I have heard you need a lip or reinforcement similar to that of the OEM lip on the inside to keep the 1/4 panel from not having any support.

I know Ive seen a write-up for it somewhere, I think it was on a build up thread somewhere...

I've done this a ton... I can free-hand teh cut perfectly with my grinder now lol.

As far as what to do after you cut the outer fender - ONLY CUT THE OUTER FENDER, don't go crazy with a sawzall and a 8" blade, use a 4.5" angle grinder or similar - I slice the inner fender back to where it's "flat", and pull those slices out, then weld them to the outer fender... this is just as strong (or stronger) than the OEM configuration, and the best way to do it IMO. ... then install bomb Dmax overs, paint, and drop it :)

As far as what to do once you realize that the slits in the inner fender let in tons of smoke while drifting, most people use "Great Stuff" Big Gap Filler, which I tried, but I'll be removing it and just welding in some .030" sheet to cover the gap from the inside, and give me something to put sound deadening on once I get off my ass.

They're 40mm overs, "pinched" to fit my 18x12 +0's without much camber, so they're out to about 50mm on the driver's side and ~60mm on the passenger side :)

Is that for a ZG flare? If so it doesn't look like you have much space to rivet to
