I'm pulling off my manifold this week, since i have everything off, i wanna know if anybody has retro-fited a 16g or 14b off the mitsubishi eclipse motor, i know the flange is a different bolt pattern, i'll just need to fab up an adapter. So....what do you guys think, potential for more HP or not?

Any reason why you don't think Duffman?

A stock 16G would be a slight improvement at best and the 14B would be worse. There are modified/aftermarket 16G's out there but you could just modify a T25.

How would the 14B be worse?? It has larger wheels than the T25.... and on DSMs is considered an upgrade. Get a hold of a Volvo exhaust housing for the Volvo TD05 and machine the inlet flange flat and it''ll bolt any TD05 center section and wheels to a T3 flange.
The only advantage would be that it would be a "cheap" thing to do..... I don't see it being better enough to justify the amount of modification necessary, even keeping the stock TD05 housing.

Okay, after really looking over the 14B i think it is about the same. It has a bigger wheel but a lower trim. If you look at this map it peaks out at a higher pressure than an SR is normally going to see.

So you could boost up to like 20psi and make about the same HP as the stock turbo at 14psi. I don't think it would increase peak HP at all, but it could hold boost past the point point the stock T25 poops out.

why don't you just have your stock turbo housings upgraded to like a t28 exhaust and t3 compressor wheel?

Because if you think about it. lets say a big 16g is 600us...it flows alot more than the T28 imho...all it would need is some lines and an adapter plate which i can make...i dunno..just a thought, i mean my old talon use to run 12 sec with a small 16g, at around 18psi...my egts were not that high, i'm sure i could get some nice airflow out of the big 16g...i noticed the greddy kit uses the small 16g on the CA18det for an upgrade and a 20g for the sr, the big 16g cannot outflow a 20g but its not that far behind...as for the 14b, i put out about 320hp on my talon and ran a high 12, thats with the drag of the AWD system too...(but then again theres an advantage with the traction) who knows?! ...just a thought guys...;)

If you are willing to do lines and an adapter why stay in the t25 family at all.
Also forced performance makes a bigt28 that bolts right in for under 900 that would be equal to that a big 16g.
