It started a few days ago. Noticed a ticking from the top of engine. Definitely sounds like a lifter. Have not been able to pinpoint which one. Figured I need to replace the lifters or at the very least remove them and pump them up. Then while driving, it felt like there was something restricting it under acceleration and sometimes would come out of it and pull just fine. Now, (every time) under full hard boost it pops, cracks, and backfires. A At part throttle it seem to be fine. It idles and starts up just fine as well. ANY IDEAS where I should start? Car is a 92 s13 with a redtop sr. t28 @ 10psi, starion fmic, 3" turbo back.

Does the ticking happen on cold start up and then go away after the engine idles for a few minutes? or is it constantly there?

Found it guys. One of the spark plugs was missing the ground electrode. Seems to me that the spark plug is a little on the warm side for heat range for what Im running for boost. You guys tell me. its an NGK iridium BKR5EIX-11. I figured I should be running 6's at 10psi. Waht do you guys think? I got the car like this but there was 1 spare plug in the center counsel so that has me thinkin this has happened before.

If you're gonna change one just change them all. If i can remember correctly I'm using BKR7E-11 and so far so good.
