Well my friend just got a 93 z32 tt and his right side turbo is blown, long story short he has a replacement for it but the local shop told him it would be 500 dollars to replace it. personaly I think thats too much so I would like to do it for him for like 250 but just wanted to make sure there is not something i don't know about that makes it a 500 dollar job. Thanks and could i please get a rough time frame to complete the job. Now before some ass chimes in and goes that depends on your skill level lets just put me at a 8.5 out of ten.

It's not that it's skilled labor... it's just that it's a fucking BITCH to get to. Most guys pull the motor to replace the turbos.
If you're willing to do that for less than $500, go for it.
Oh, and your buddy should replace both turbos, cause the other one's probably about to go also... might as well, while it's out.

my buddy just did a driver side turbo on his z32 tt.
hes a tech and he swore to never touch that job again without pulling the motor. it is doable but i think pulling motor/trans out is the quickest way.
to get to the driver side turbo he pulled the radiator, all piping, brake booster and still very little room.
right now im working on a blower setup in a 1970 opel gt. its one of those cars you wanna burn down because there is no room. the z32 is very close behind ;)
personally i wouldnt touch that job for 250 unless you are about to be evicted from you home and need cash.
i would replace both turbos as mentioned above. its the same shitty oil that goes through both turbos. if one failed then the other one is most likely on its last leg.
when doing the pass turbo inspect the driver side. good luck.

well not nesseserily the pass side turbo tends to go out first because the oil line is so close to the manifold (coacking) but yeah you guys are right unless I turn into a crackhead b4 monday i'm not touching that. plus I tend to half ass certian things sometimes :nono:

My buddy owns a shop that specializes in Z32's...why I don't know, but almost everything requires that you first pull the trans and then pull the motor. If his shop is doing it for $500.00 let them do it, because it is more than $500.00 worth of work.
