Anybody know the visual difference of the HICAS steering rack and pinion Vs the non-HiCAs steering rack and pinion?

Going to a junk yard tomorrow, to pick one up. But I want to make sure it is the correct unit and not the regular one that comes on Non-HICAS cars.

Besides the thicker steering arm rods.. which for me is hard to tell the difference from the non-hicas. How would I be able to know the difference. I have not seen the Hicas unit so I don't know if there are extra holes or what not???

Other than a slightly quicker steering ratio what are you looking to get out of the HICAS steerting rack.

BTW you will have to plug the extra outlets that go to the rear of the car

FYI- I have a '91 HICAS and SR equipped 240

There are other benefits to the rack.

What I want to know the visual attribute's of the HICAS rack VS the none-HICAS rack. I will not say anything else about the rack, untill I have a better undertanding of it. I am just experimenting with it that's all.

P.S> Since you have a Hicas, would you happen to have pictures of the steering rack? and also pictures of the steering arms, that are connected to the rack.

they look identical.. there are no visual differences.

just make sure the car has a hicas controller on it, and you good to go.
