I've decided on these wheels, but cant choose the colour. They will be going on a black s13 coupe. Im getting them in 17x7.5. Im leaning towards the gun metal right now. tell me which one you like best, or if you have any suggestions for other rims feel free. does anyone have any specs on these wheels? i couldnt find any. I would like to know how much they weigh. thanks

black coupe? exactly like mine!
i would go with either gunmetal or gold...
but im leaning toward gunmetal
those are some nice wheels
make sure you get an offset lower than +40
at least +35.. to clear the shocks/coilovers
plus it'll look nicer

If you ever get a Siliva headlight conversion, I would get the gold ones. I like the black and gold look, looks good, and goes better with the silvia fron, but this is all IMO.
But any of those would look nice on a black koop, its personal preference. Do you like black on black, black on gold, or black on silver.
My choices:
1. Gold
2. Black
3. Silver

IMO:
1. Gold
2. Silver
3. black

You are looking at the wrong things! You need to be worried about offset!
those wheels are not avilable in the righ toffset for your car
for a pizza cutter 7 and a half inch in wheel if you HAVE to get that size I'd get like a +27 offset

30-38mm offset...I believe a 27mm offset would slightly stick out and anything over 38 would smack the strut.

hey you know what?? if you get KYB AGX struts, you can fit 18 x 7.5 with 225/40/18 tires on it... because those struts in the front is raised about a 1/4 inch... so it's just perfect.... that's exactly what i have on mine... so talking about your 17's, with those struts, it shouldn't be a problem at all..

you know what? go for the gold, since i already have the gunmetal :D kekekekek... juss kidding, i don't mind having the same rims as someone else... yea yea, i need a paint job, i know i know...

well, if those rims dont have the right offset, does anyone have any suggestions on other rims...i want either bronze or gun metal, maybe gold, but not too bright. I also like the polished lip look Im a fan of konig theory's.

you believe wrong. a 27mm offset on a 7.5 inch rim will be darn near flush with the fender. a 35mm offset on a 8 incher will be darn near flush. above a 38mm in what width would smack the strut? factory offset is a 42 (or is it 40 i forget) it just looks sunken in.
anything in the proper offset for our cars stateside is EXPENSIVE. if your not willing to pay the premium at least get some like 20mm spacers and longer studs to make them look decent.

Why in the hell are you calling 7.5" rims pizza cutters? Are you dumb? Our cars, well.. 95% of them, don't make the power to necessitate huge tires. What are you running if 7.5" rims are pizza cutters? If you say anything less than 9", I feel sorry for your loathing and misery at the world, and will have to ask you to "blow off steam" elsewhere.
Come on. Stock rims = 6.5". 7.5" is a healthy upgrade. And yes, I've had massive rims. 17x10 and 17x11 on my 'Vette, with 285/40 up fron and 335/35 in the rear. Changing tires cost me $1400. Too much money to spend on a car that doesn't need the traction just so a pittiful human bieng won't call them pizza cutters. STFU already. I just locked one of your other useless posts.

hey hey hey, lets not argue.... I have those exact same rims.. the Velox VX-8 in 18 x 7.5 and YES they're 40 mm offsets, and they fit just fine!!!!!! no rubbing, no scraping, nothin!!!

I know they will FIT. That's not the point. I'm sure your be happy with your wheels but I hope you don't plan on using true coilovers or doing a Z brake upgrade. You must be a big fun of the sunken wheel look.

brake caliper clearance = spoke design, not offset.

not to jack the thread, but X1nom3D, i love the way your car looks. . . did you do something to the back? and zilviabsessed get them in black, you wont be sorry. . . what do they run for $$?

well thank you for the compliment, i appreciate it very much... and as for the back... i'm not quite sure what you're asking about... body work? or... suspension? well.. I did do a lil bit of a body work on the quarterpanel... you know, some f'd up person decided to open their door really hard right by my car and happened to hit it... so... yea... and as for the hatch lid, I got another one form the junkyard, cause my old one was all rusted up from the stock spoiler, you know... all the salt and snow in the midwest... nothing is really reliable up here.... I try my best to keep proper maintainence though... well... suspension wise... I have the Sprint springs with a 1.8 inch drop all around... along with the KYB AGX all around also... well... oh yea... I sanded the middle section of the taillights and primered it, getting ready for paint... so, I hope that answers the question... as for the price... I can't say on here, my friend owns a shop, and I got a really good deal on it... so... I couldn't really tell ya if i wanted to... sorry.

here's a hint: knowing people who know what they're talking about doesn't equate to you knowing what you're talking about.
Seriously, you say nothing of any merit or value. I think I've already said this before: there is no "right" offset for the 240, because there is a range of offsets that will work fine. What's "right" depends solely on the plans of the owner, not what some idiot on a forum (read: you) keeps spouting out with nothing to back it up.
I hope they run you off this board like they did at freshalloy.

my wheels are 15x6.5, does that make them pizza cutters? i have a KA24E, so why would i need super wide wheels? for my crazy ~110whp? btw the offset is +19, and theyre pretty flush.
how wide are YOUR wheels? whats YOUR offset? how much power do YOU make?
i dont believe i have yet to see a useful/constructive/contributive/intelligent post from you. grow up.

My thoughts exactly........without all the anger :) ok, now your all going to call me crazy but ive changed my mind on rims already, ive decided on konig blatants (17x7 or 17x8 which one should i go for???). they are super-light according to the article and look great. Im talking about the bronze ones btw. Their not bad in graphite though either. ill try and get picks of it in a bit

To corner better?
There's no rule that says you need x horsepower to need wider that stock wheels and tires. I know of someone running 245/45-16's all around with a KA24E AUTOMATIC and he raves about the grip compared to his old 225/50-16 setup. I don't drag race my 240SX, I bet you don't either (or you wouldn't have a KA24E :p ); accelerative traction is the last thing on my mind.
I'm planning on going with 225/50-16s on my car, only because I'm not planning on an aggressive enough suspension to use the 245s fully (too much body roll).
Width has its place!
But NiteKids is stupid to assume everyone needs it.

well you know.... I wouldn't say that one thing is better than the other... I'm sure your taste is different than mine... maybe similar, but different... as for the new choice you posted, I like them... I say go for it!!! and also, i said this in a different thread when this other dude asked about rims... I forgot his name... well anyway, your car is your car... as far as looks are concerned... it shall be built and designed by you, the owner. unless you want to impress everyone out there and make people break their necks when you drive past them :D I repeat, I'd say those are pretty nice wheels... i think they'll do...

true, what i think comes first, but i would also like to know what everyone else thinks of them. does anybody have these rims on their car? will they fit? im also planning on doing suspension, not sure what though, and also the 300zx brake upgrade in the future, so i need to know ahead that clearance wont be a big issue.

just checked out konig's website, and according to their fitment guide, blatants will only fit on a 240 with 45 offset, and thats the 17x7. they also have heliums 17x7 with 40 offset. both rims are very similar. now, i dont know how this would look but ive heard a lot of people make fun of offset this high. does this mean the wheels will stick out further or will it be set back in the wheel well? would these rims look stupid with this offset? is there any way i could change it?? im soo confused!!!

they will be under the wheel well a lot like your factory wheels. (almost identical actually)
You can get spacers to push them out, and effectively lower the offset of the wheel to whatever you want. There are some small questions concerning safety though.

so i could get spacers to get my desired offset but.....my wheels may fall off on the highway??? what safety issues?

AFAIK spacers are relatively safe. alot of drifters in japan run with spacers and are fine, but youre better off talking to someone like dousan.
sykikchimp
04-05-2003, 01:51 PM
Dousan runs pretty large spacers, but he re-torques his down about once a week. You really can't just put them on and forget it. I would retorque probably at least once every 2-3 weeks.

i think i could live with torqueing them every few weeks.

wow, this poor guy, all he was asking about was picking his wheels and another offset thread ensues :(
Glad you decided against the Velox (utter crap IMHO), and are leaning towards Konig (crappy, but decent knockoff rims for those on a budget)
As you can probably tell, the offset thing has been an issue of high debate here recently. Bottom line, if your not rubbing your shocks, and you like how they look, go for it. It's a different story if you were building a race car, but for 99% of people here who DON'T have separate dd and track cars, all of this bickering isn't really going have that much of an impact on you, so take it all with a grain of salt, these guys are talking about the hardcore balls-out stuff :)

will these rims look flush at all with 40 offset? id rather not use spacers if they are close to flush. ive decided on the ground control sleeve coils and agx (?) shocks. also, the 300z brake upgrade. are these rims going to fit without rubbing with this set up? thanks
